Position: Business Applications Specialist
Level: A level 3 position reporting to Applications Manager
Purpose:
• To perform user requirements assessment, systems analysis, systems design, development and maintenance of deployed applications.
Key Results Area & Activities:
1. Applications Development
1.1 Gathers and analyses user requirements and develops user requirements document.
1.2 Analyses user requirements and develops functional specifications document
1.3 Develops software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation for approval by Applications Manager.
1.4 Designs applications based on prepared functions specifications
1.5 Develops applications from the approved designs
1.6 Performs application testing and checks compliance to functional specifications.
2. Applications Support
2.2 Troubleshoots systems problems and resolves them within service level agreement.
2.3 Liaises with systems vendors for systems problems not being resolved internally.
2.4 Supports external developers to integrate to ETL applications
2.5 Maintains Billing Systems integration platform to enable subscriber to access service.
3. End-User Training
4.1 Prepares training manuals/structure for new/existing systems/applications and submit to Applications Manager for checking and approval
4.2 Trains systems users in relation to approved training manual/structure
Qualifications and experience
• BSc in IT or equivalent
• 2-4 years experience in applications development preferably in telecom business
• Driver’s license is a requirement.

Performance Contract
Successful candidate shall sign an annual performance delivery contract, the results thereof shall form the basis of the continued existence of substantive contract.
