IT Systems Specialist, Database and Business Systems

We are looking to recruit two IT Systems Specialists to play a key role within our Information Technology Services Section. You’ll be responsible for providing support and assisting in the management of applications. You will need to have a thorough and detailed understanding of the systems we use, and be able to deliver solutions in a timely and appropriate manner.
The role will involve planning, implementing and supporting applications, both to business users and projects, through a structured software development lifecycle including analysis, design, testing, implementation and incident resolution. You will provide second/third-line technical support where necessary, liaise with third-party providers and ensuring SLAs are met, undertake diagnostic checks on application systems and database management systems, and document all operational processes and procedures in line with ITIL standards.
To succeed in this role you will need to be able to effectively plan and manage the delivery of your own work, keep up to date with industry developments, and maintain relevant IT policies and Procedures. There may also be the requirement to occasionally provide out-of-hours support.  A pro-active team player with a customer–oriented approach and strong interpersonal skills, you must have excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills and be well versed in gathering requirements, analysis and the design of new systems.
With a degree in IT or a related field, training and extensive hands-on experience in systems analysis and design, plus ideally TOGAF and ITIL Certification you will have a customer-oriented approach, be able to technically document new systems, and provide hands-on training to users.
You will have a minimum of five years’ experience in systems analysis including experience of database administration (MS SQL 2005-2012 and other database technologies); in-depth knowledge of MS Windows Server and infrastructure; exposure to .NET & C# development and a good understanding of cloud and mobile technology. You will also have project management experience and a proficiency in document management systems and MS SharePoint.

ISS Pretoria: Programme Administrator, Conflict Management and Peacebuilding Division

The ISS seeks to appoint a dynamic Programme Administrator (PA) in the Conflict Management & Peacebuilding division (CMPB) in Pretoria. The main function of this position is to ensure effective financial administration in the division. The PA will also provide administrative, management and logistical support to the Division Head and team members. Events coordination is also an important requirement as the division regularly hosts seminars, workshops and international conferences.
About Conflict Management & Peacebuilding (CMPB)
The CMPB division contributes to sustainable peace by helping stakeholders to improve the management of conflicts and provision of security. It supports gender sensitive policy development and implementation, capacity building and research in the area of conflict management and peace building.
Overview of duties
  • Financial administration, including budget preparation, monitoring of expenditure, cash-flow forecasts and financial reports
  • General programme organisation and administration, minute-taking at meetings, accurate and logical record keeping of the division’s documents and files
  • Planning, preparing and executing all logistical arrangements relating to event coordination, including travel arrangements of international participants and effective financial administration of the event expenses
  • Travel and logistical arrangements for the Division Head and other members of the CPRA team
  • Effective diary coordination of the division members according to their respective work plans and commitments
  • Screening telephone calls, enquiries and requests relating to the division
Overview of requirements
  • At least 5 years experience in financial and programme administration
  • A diploma in business administration, secretarial studies/office administration
  • Exceptional planning and organisational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Proven competence in MS Office with advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Self-motivated, focused, deadline driven, action-orientated and good people skills
  • Ability to travel regionally and internationally
The contract will be for two years, and may be renewed subject to programme requirements, funding and satisfactory performance. A competitive salary is offered.

The ISS seeks to appoint a dynamic Division Administrator (DA) in the Conflict Prevention and Risk Analysis (CPRA) division based in Pretoria. The division has staff working in all four of the ISS’s offices: Pretoria, Nairobi, Addis Ababa and Dakar. The DA’s main function will be to consolidate reporting and administration for the division in Pretoria where s/he will report to the Division Head.
The most important aspect of this position is to ensure effective financial administration and consolidation of the division’s financial and narrative reports. CPRA Programme Administrators in Nairobi, Addis Ababa and Dakar will report to the DA.
The DA will provide administrative, management and logistical support to the Division Head and team members. Events coordination will also be a key function as the division regularly hosts seminars, workshops and international conferences.
About the Conflict Prevention and Risk Analysis (CPRA) division
CPRA helps prevent conflict by providing informed conflict analysis and early warning to African and international decision makers.
Overview of duties
  • Financial administration for the whole division, including budget preparation, monitoring of expenditure, cash-flow forecasts and financial reports
  • Preparing consolidated divisional narrative reports
  • Coordinating divisional donor reporting schedules
  • General programme organisation and administration, minute-taking at meetings, accurate and logical record keeping of the division’s documents and files
  • Planning, preparing and executing all logistical arrangements relating to event coordination, including travel arrangements of international participants and effective financial administration of event expenses
  • Travel and logistical arrangements for the Division Head and other members of the CPRA team

Consultants - UNHCR

Le Haut Commissariat des Nations Unies pour les réfugiés (HCR Représentation de Paris) recherche pour des activités de nature juridictionnelle des consultants répondant au profil décrit ci-dessous. La mission du consultant consistera à siéger au sein d'une formation de jugement et à évaluer les recours introduits auprès de la Cour nationale du droit d'asile par des demandeurs d'asile dont la demande a été rejetée par l’OFPRA. La mission sera rémunérée en proportion des vacations effectuées au sein de la Cour nationale du droit d'asile.

Profil académique: diplôme de 3ème cycle en droit (public, interne et international), en sciences politiques, en sociologie, histoire, anthropologie ou ethnologie ou autre domaine pertinent. 

Expérience professionnelle: expérience de plus de 8 ans dans un domaine lié à l’asile, au droit des réfugiés, aux droits de l’homme en général, au droit international, droit administratif ou dans une branche juridique pertinente.

Autres critères:

  • expérience acquise au cours de missions de terrain effectuées dans un cadre humanitaire ou autre au sein d’organisations non gouvernementales ou d’organisations internationales;
  • connaissances linguistiques;
  • autre expertise particulière pertinente;
