Senior Systems Administrator at Econet Telecom Lesotho

Position: Senior Systems Administrator

Level: A level 3 position reporting to HOD-IT & IP Networks

Purpose:

To configure, implement and maintain ETL server and operating systems infrastructure in IS department.


Major Tasks:

Plan the company storage configuration, maintenance and provisioning

Support and Maintain Companies mail and domain infrastructure and services
Coordination, planning, and technical support for all ETL Domain and Email server infrastructure.

Coordination, planning, and servers and storage hardware expansion and optimization



Performs fine-tuning of the servers and operating system for optimum performance.




Performs system restorations whenever necessary


Participates in vendor registration process, requests for quotes acquisition and procurement of IT infrastructures.



Monitors and maintains the backup system in compliance with the IT Backup policy



Ensures that all business data backups are performed daily and signed off

Ensure that there is an up to date systems and configuration documentations

Advices business on the relevant and new technology to acquire and procure for deploying the solutions


Qualifications and experience

BSc in IT or equivalent. 4 years relevant experience in Information Systems. Driver’s license is a requirement.
Microsoft Certificated Solutions Expert
ITIL Advantageous
3 Years experience working with Microsoft Hyper-V environment or similar virtualization platforms
3 years experience working on Linux/Unix Environment
3 years experience working with SAN/NAS technologies

Performance Contract

System Support Officer at First National Bank of Lesotho Limited

First National Bank of Lesotho Limited (FNBL), a highly recognised financial services provider in Lesotho, seeks to employ a proactive, innovative, self driven and highly motivated Mosotho to occupy the position of System Support Officer.

JOB PURPOSE:
To provide technical support to the unit ensuring that the Maintenance, Support, Configuration and Management of the Microsoft Windows servers including the active directory structure of First National Bank of Lesotho Limited is done cost effectively and timely.

Key responsibilities:
Capacity planning on File server space, Bandwidth and processing capacity of the servers.
Performs general PC maintenance tasks in the organisation.
Responsible for troubleshooting and repair of computer systems and peripheral equipment located throughout the organisation.
Maintain an adequate spare parts inventory of systems, subsystems and component parts used in repair work.
Prepares progress reports for all work performed.
Receives calls from Helpdesk Consultant and solve queries or will escalate where necessary to ensure that appropriate action is taken.
Provides basic user support and assistance for new and existing systems providing basic training on these systems when required.
Responsible for user liaison and problem solving.
Completes Software/Hardware installations and administration on Network and Workstations.
Ensures necessary data protection procedures implemented, including backups, restores and archiving for documentation of all systems.
Responsible for the repairs of faulty equipment.
Responsible for diagnosing and rectifying faults in data communication networks, using specialised monitoring and testing equipment.
Installs network cabling and is involved in network configurations.
Recommend staff training needs to the Systems Administrator.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· Degree in IT or related

LECTURERS IN COMPUTER ENGINEERING IN THE DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS AND COMPUTER SCIENCE

The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following posts:

FACULTY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY -- DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS AND COMPUTER SCIENCE 

The Department offers undergraduate degree programmes in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Systems and Networks engineering. There are also double major degree programmes in Computer Science with either of Mathematics, Statistics and Physics. The department wishes to appoint a qualified candidate to contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, project supervision and research in Computer Science.

 
POST NOS. 2370 & 3582:   LECTURERS IN COMPUTER ENGINEERING   

Minimum qualifications and requirements:
  • Masters degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with telecommunications specialization; PhD will be an added advantage.
  •  At least (1) year relevant teaching experience at a tertiary level
  • Evidence of a recent research record in peer-reviewed journals and conferences

Duties:
  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Computer Science and Computer Engineering.
  • Supervise student projects.
  • Conduct relevant research and publish in peer-reviewed journals and conferences
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the department.

Contract duration:
The appointment for this post shall be a two year contract

The successful candidates are expected to resume duty on July 1, 2014.

PURPOSE OF JOB: To assist in providing Personal and Business Banking (PBB) with reliable Management Information and analysis from at least the following perspectives: Personal and BusinessBanking customer segments; Channels and Product/Financial Solution in order to assess business performance and make informed business decisions.
SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide MIS Solutions and to assist PBB to make informed decisions on
• Customer Segment a.o.: Market share; customer acquisition, attrition and retention; cross sell ratios; transaction behaviour and best approximation of customer profitability.
• Revenue channel (to individual ATM; branch; POS; internet banking, CCC): utilization; productivity, capacity, revenue (fee income); start up rates and best approximation of channel profitability.
• Product/Financial Solution; acquisition, attrition and retention.
2. Provide detailed Pricing MI, to aid fact based recommendations to sustainably improve the financial performance of
Personal and Business Banking:
• Develop, maintain and present 1 view of pricing parameters, inclusive of risk indicators.
3. Assist in-depth analysis and trends to provide meaningful management information and underlying reasons that can be used in route cause analysis and problem identification:
• Business case development (premises and outlets).
• Score card input and performance appraisals.
• Root cause analysis and decision making.
• Reports and presentations.

SQL (Structured Query Language)
Experience in product development and management, inclusive of pricing and margin management.
