Org. Setting and Reporting
The United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-Habitat, is the agency for human settlements. It is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all.
The UN-Habitat Office of Management internship is for 6 months.
The Internship is UNPAID and full-time.
Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.
Education
Applicants must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
a. Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
b. Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent);
c. Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.
Be computer literate in standard software applications.
Have demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and
Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
Studies in Finance/Accounting required.
Work Experience
Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the programme.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the internship, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another UN Language is desirable.

PROPERTY MAINTENANCE MANAGER
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The purpose of this job is to ensure that the Corporation’s property portfolio is maintained to standards that protect and sustain the property portfolio in the long term.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To evaluate submissions from maintenance service providers;
To carry out take-back inspections at the lease expiry and also carry out take on inspections when a new tenant moves in conjunction with Property Development Officer;
To do annual building inspections to determine medium to long term maintenance requirements (to record the present condition of an estate and its facilities and give some indication of future maintenance commitments)
To annually conduct full evaluation of the performance of the external service providers and submit report thereon to Head Property Management (HPM);
To develop post-emergency contingency plan (for fire, flood loss of power to water) ;
To establish and maintain links with utility companies on issues pertaining to maintenance of power supply, equipment, constant and reliable provision of water supply and sewerage disposal services as well as repairs to roads in estates as applicable;
To periodically conduct and review property valuations and liaise with Finance for adequate insurance thereof;
To manage all the services contractors within the Services Level Agreement concluded with them;
To ensure Property Maintenance Officer prepares cost estimates for upgrades, renovations, demolitions and conversions ahead of financial year end;
To supervise the preparation of specifications and secure bids for upgrades, renovations demolition and conversions by Property Maintenance Officer;

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
BSc in Construction Management or any Property Management related field
5 years’ experience in property management
PROPERTY MAINTENANCE OFFICER
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To manage the day-to-day maintenance needs of the allocated property portfolio within the Maintenance Policy and procedures
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Do annual building inspections to determine medium to long term maintenance requirements (to record the present condition of a fabric and its facilities and give some indication of future maintenance commitments)
To detect incipient faults and defects, and the extent of remedial work necessary to restore to the agreed standard and avoid the defect recurring, and to submit recommendations on the degree of urgency for the work
To check that previous work had been carried out satisfactorily and had proved adequate to meet the specific conditions and recommend on the frequency of future inspections
Arrange for and have regular meetings with service providers on performance levels
Advise new prospective tenants as to the capacity of services in space contemplated for sub leasing
Ensure compliance to premises use (vigilant as to contraventions of tenants user clause)
Evaluate submissions from maintenance service providers.
Undertake visits to the properties at least every month to evaluate property from an Occupancy Health and Safety point of view
To prepare term-contracts for special work based on pre-priced schedule of rates for such work as servicing fire equipment and cleaning windows
REPORTING CHANNELS

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
BSc in Construction Management or any Property Management related field
At least 3 years’ experience in property management.

Medical Superintendent for Paray Mission Hospital

Paray Mission Hospital is a Roman Catholic Church Health Facility situated at the administration centre of ThabaTseka District. It is under the leadership of the Archbishop of Maseru, run by the Sisters of Charity of Ottawa in collaboration with Christian Health Association of Lesotho (CHAL), to provide accessible, affordable holistic quality health care to all people.
Applications are therefore invited from highly qualified and motivated persons for a Two Years Contract Position of Medical Superintendent for Paray Mission Hospital. The purpose of this Position is to give the overall strategic direction for the Hospital; provision of strategic linkages of the Hospital with Board of Directors and other external bodies collaborating with the Hospital; Mobilization of critical resources needed to achieve the goals and objectives of the Hospital; Ensures appropriate care for the patients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct, supervise and evaluate work in medical, clinical and management/administration programs, including nursing, statistics, pharmacy, laboratory, PHC etc. And establish work schedules and assignments for Medical Officers and Heads of Programs reporting to the office of the Medical Superintendent.
Maintain a strategic communication and collaboration between the Hospital, other CHAL institutions, Hospital Board, LCBC, CHAL Secretariat and The Ministry of Health.
To supervise the implementation of all Hospital programs and services in accordance with policies, regulations, guidelines, protocols and procedures set by the Ministry of Health, LCBC and CHAL.
Collaborates with the Hospital Management Team to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate Hospital fiscal plans and operational plans to ensure an effective implementation of the Hospital programs.
Conduct and administer fiscal operations, including accounting, planning budgets, authorizing expenditures, and coordinating financial reporting.
Coordinate development and implementation of policies, systems and procedures for the Hospital.
Direct or conduct recruitment as well as development of medical staff and heads of departments for the Hospital.
Direct the development and maintenance of record or statistical data management systems essential for strategic decision making and generation of reports.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Degree in MBchB/Medicine from a recognized University, good reputable record in Medical practice plus at least five years in managerial and leadership position. Registration with Lesotho Medical, Dental and Pharmacy Council is a requirement.

JOB PURPOSE
To manage the tax function for FNB Lesotho, limit tax risk, provide technical advice on tax matters in order to ensure that FNB Lesotho complies with Lesotho tax legislation.
Key Responsibilities;
Regulatory Reporting
Ensure accuracy, correctness and reliability of all returns submitted to regulators
Ensure all regulatory reports are submitted as and when due
Preparation of all regulatory returns required by Regulatory Bodies:
Under the supervision of Chief Financial Officer, respond to and resolve all Local Regulatory Reporting issues
Computation of various ratios
Computation of Capital Adequacy ratios and Risk Weighted Assets
Ensure compliance with Basel requirements
Capital framework planning
South African Reserve Bank(SARB) Regulatory reporting
Support regulatory and statutory returns.
Liaison with Regulatory Bodies
Taxation
Support the company, in the administration and management of an effective tax system
Manage compliance with the local corporate, income and other tax regimes (e.g. Withholding tax and VAT) and minimise the burden of taxation on the Group.
Manage the bank's tax affairs effectively, keeping abreast of the latest developments.
Review monthly indirect & direct tax returns compiled by the Finance Administrator to ensure that accurate and compliant returns are submitted to LRA.
Calculate and review all direct tax computations of the bank compiled by the Finance Administrator to ensure that provisional tax payments are not under-estimated (exposed to under-estimation penalties) and that accurate tax returns are submitted to Inland Revenue.
Monitor & implement control measures to ensure timely submission of all tax returns for the bank to avoid payment of penalties and interest.
Monitor tax legislation, access changes and implement relevant tax procedures and policies to ensure compliance within the Group.
Identify tax opportunities and implement the recommended tax policies and procedures timely to improve the banks tax position.
Liaise with FirstRand Group tax to consult and keep them abreast of new developments to ensure in-country compliance are in line with Group tax practices/policies.
Report on tax matters and the tax risk of the Group to board sub-committees (Audit & Risk committees).
Execute line management accountabilities for reporting staff to ensure efficient use of resources and effective execution of duties.
Liaise with in-country counterparts and Human Resources to obtain information, consult and give guidance on tax compliance.
Oversee tax audits by LRA, Internal/External auditors to ensure queries are resolved timely.
Ensure that reconciliations of direct & indirect tax accounts are executed timely.
Liaise with FAS and/or other branches/business units to query variances on their general ledger and to get an understanding of their business and systems.
Monitor branch/business unit general ledgers to enhance compliance by conducting compliance reviews with regard to valid tax invoices and output vat collections / splits.
Ensure that month end procedures are executed timely.
Ensure that taxpayer accounts at the LRA are in good standing and that outstanding items / queries are resolved timely.
Provide input with new products / services launched within the bank to ensure tax compliance and reduce tax risk of non-compliance.
Engage with tax consultants and provide information to obtain technical tax opinions to enhance compliance and reduce tax risk.
Provide training to up skill staff and initiate tax compliance awareness campaigns within the group to enhance tax compliance.
Align the bank tax function to the overall Bank’s strategy.

Plan and advice on capital framework and any risk related issues.

Qualifications and Experience;
First degree in any discipline plus professional qualifications in accounting e.g. ACCA, CA(SA) (part or fully qualified) with at least four years work experience in Regulatory and Financial reporting department of a financial institution.
Working experience in Accounting/Banking Systems
Substantial experience in audit firm will be an added advantage
Knowledge:
Building and managing relationship with clients.
Good working knowledge of the Local Regulatory requirements and Group Accounting practice. supplemented by all round Banking experience.
Good knowledge of financial statements analysis.
Understanding of the GL accounts is essential in assessing whether the trend of an account is irregular and requires immediate management attention.

JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Clinic Manager, the Nursing Sister will be responsible for effective and efficient implementation of the clinic activities. Nursing Sister will ensure that activities done in the clinic conform to the required standards and that no activities undermining the image of LPPA are performed.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Implements the clinical aspects of the Clinic.
Keeps and maintains records of drugs, equipment and contraceptives used in the clinic.
Provides counseling to clients and dispense appropriate drugs to clients.
Undertakes monthly, quarterly, half year and annual reporting of the clinic activities and will submit these to the Senior Nurse.
Performs any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by supervisor and which fall within the purview of the duties and responsibilities expected of the Nursing Sister.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Qualified Nurse/Midwife with at least three years post qualification experience.

SUMMARY:
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer is responsible to the Chief Executive for the efficient management and administration of LPPA’s Monitoring and Evaluation section. The M&E is responsible for all LPPA research, monitoring and evaluation activities as well as ensuring that the work of the section is carried out to a high professional standard and in accordance with the overall mission and objectives of LPPA.
MAIN DUTIES
Develops and strengthens monitoring, inspection and evaluation procedures
Monitors all project activities, expenditures and progress towards achieving the project output.
Monitors and evaluates overall progress on achievement of results
Provides feedback to the Chie Executive on general program performance.
Keeps abreast of developments in grant/program changes and progress in order to advise and recommend tools and strategies to increase program performances and results
Identifies strengths and weaknesses in existing data collection and management systems and propose solutions along with the Program Director
Performs regular field visits to ensure the quality of data collection by Programs and to verify the accuracy of reported data.
Supports the Programs to ensure that donor, partner, and Senior Management data queries are addressed in an accurate and timely manner
Assists Program in establishing log frames, M&E work plans, and targets during the drafting of donor project proposals as well as throughout project implementation
Reviews and analyzes weekly reports with the MSDC to identify the causes of potential bottlenecks in Clinical Set up and to enhance quality of reporting.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
A BA Degree in Social Sciences with Statistics plus three years experience in design of research and evaluation programs at a senior level.
Capacity to produce high- quality briefs and reports.
NGOs experience is an added advantage.

Possesses strong oral and written communication skills.
Works independently with little direct supervision.

Understanding of Sexual and Reproductive Health issues.
