Summary
• The role of a CEO is to ensure that set revenue targets and strategies are met within the company in line with the Aon Lesotho Board of Directors & Aon Sub Sahara Africa Executive Leadership Team expectations and to also ensure that existing clients are retained, and that new business is generated. The CEO is also responsible for leading the entire organisation and ensuring sustainable profitable returns to the shareholders.

Responsibilities
• Leads significant divisions comprising of large business units in terms of revenue and complexity of client porfolios
• Works across geographies and functions in order to achieve agreed strategic objectives and annual budget plans
• Monitors the on-going performance of the business and works with Business Unit Heads to deliver agreed targets
• Drives a culture of inclusivity and diversity with a strong focus on employee and leadership engagement
• Identifies and follows up key business development opportunities both within existing lines of business and new channels or sectors
• Ensures that processes and measures are in place for monitoring and maintaining business conduct standards consistent with Aon Global standards and
Lesotho legislative and regulatory requirements
• Contributes to and participates in Aon-wide senior executive groups, committees and ad-hoc project teams and other bodies as necessary

Competencies, Knowledge & Experience

• Comprehensive knowledge of the Lesotho, Southern African and international short and long term insurance markets.

Education & Certification
• Be in a possession of a Bachelor’s degree/National Diploma or equivalent
• Have an insurance related tertiary qualification

Work Experience
• Have a minimum of 10 years managerial experience (must have managed senior managers and preferably operated at an executive level)
• Minimum of 10 years short term insurance industry experience preferably in an Insurance Broking environment
• Be dependable and respect confidentiality
• Have a high work ethic and must have the ability to function effectively under pressure
• Be a team player, have the ability to build good relationships, support and actively participate in, and contribute to any team initiatives
