Programme Officer, Natural Resources and Extractives


The NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency invites applicants who are citizens of African Union Member States for the post of Programme Officer, Natural Resources and Extractives

Under the supervision of the Head of the Natural Resources Governance and Food Security Programme, the Programme Officer (Natural Resources and Extractives) shall provide technical support towards the implementation of NEPAD’s interventions natural resources and extractives governance. Based on best practices at the country and regional level, the Programme Officer will support NEPAD’s processes aimed at catalysing a continent-wide move towards strengthening governance of the extractives sector and harnessing natural resource revenues for prosperity.

Education and Experience:

Candidates must have a minimum qualification of a Master degree in Agriculture/ Environmental Management / Natural Resources / Climate Change or related qualification with a minimum of 2 years progressive working experience or a relevant Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ experience of in the public sector, multilateral institutions, and international non-governmental or similar organizations nationally, regionally and / or internationally.

Remuneration: Indicative basic salary of US$29,287.00 per annum plus other entitlements e.g. Post Adjustment (57% of basic salary), Housing allowance ($21,196.80 per annum), Pension (19% of basic salary) in conformity with the rules and procedures applicable to internationally recruited staff of the African Union.
