Position: Manager Laboratory & Quality Control
No. of posts: 1
Job Specification: BSc/ Bachelor’s Degree In Civil Engineering, a Postgraduate Degree in Highway Engineering or Transportation/ Construction / Project Management would be an advantage.
Eight (8) years experience in management of civil engineering works and services, three (3) years should be in field assignment


Position: Senior Design Engineer

Job Specification: BSc/ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, plus five (5) years in Design of roads and bridges, contract management and supervision of road works
Complete computer literacy and hands-on-practice on design roads or bridges using CAD. Ability to use and interpret results from latest topographic survey equipment

Job Specification: BSc/ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, plus two (2) years experience in road materials testing, soil and geological investigation, quality control and supervision of road works

ENGINEERING VACANCIES IN LESOTHO , JUNE 2014

GWC Consulting Engineers Pty Ltd, a Lesotho based engineering consultancy firm require suitably qualified engineers for the following positions:

1. Water Engineer / Hydraulic Engineer
Applicant must have M.Sc degree in Water Resources or Hydraulic Engineer with minimum of 15 years experience in design and construction supervision of urban and rural water supply and sanitation projects. Candidates are required to have practical knowledge of hydrological analysis and water resources assessment, pipe network modelling using EPANET/WATERCAD/CIVIL DESIGNER, design of concrete reservoirs, pump stations and preparation of construction drawings using AutoCAD software and Tender Documents.

2. Road Engineer
Applicant must have bachelor degree in civil engineering and minimum 10 of years experience in design and construction supervision of all road classes. The Engineer has to undertake all aspects of road design, preparation of tender documents for road works and administration of work’s contract. The Road Engineer will also undertake the tasks of Resident Engineer where required. Knowledge on the use of road design softwares and AutoCad will be an added advantage.


3. Senior Civil Engineer
Applicants must have at least B.Sc degree in Civil Engineering (10) years experience in the design and construction supervision of water supply and sanitation system. Candidates are required to have practical knowledge of pipe network modeling using EPANET, WATERCAD, etc., design of concrete reservoirs, pump stations, and preparation of design and construction drawings using AUTOCAD. Experience in design and construction supervision of Water and Wastewater treatment Plant and ArcGIS will be an added advantage.

Civil Engineer

CDM International Inc. is currently looking for a Civil Engineer for a large water supply project in Southern Africa.
Job Details:
• Lead for various infrastructure associated with a major water transfer scheme involving roads, project housing, water and sanitation, bulk power supply, telecommunications, including mitigation of environmental, social, public health and occupational safety impacts
• Closely monitor budget, scope, schedule, quality and reporting requirements on various infrastructure components
• Management and oversight of engineering teams contracted to design and supervise the infrastructure components
• Advice and counsel to the client and donors on matters relating to the project’s success, including project delivery, strategies, procurement, contract management, design and construction oversight, and commissioning
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited engineering university
• Chartered/Professional Membership from an internationally recognized institution
• 15 years of experience in feasibility study, detailed engineering design, procurement, construction supervision, contract administration
• Project Manager of similar large scale water sector project involving major infrastructure design and construction supervision contracts
• Experience with bulk power and telecommunications
• Prior experience in Sub-Saharan Africa
• Experience on projects implemented under FIDIC Conditions of Contract
• Excellent oral/ written communications skills in English
• Ability to excel under demanding deadlines and timetables.

• Assist on the basis of information and reports submitted by the Senior Technical Officers to make recommendations to the Engineering staff on works required dealing with problems associated with road maintenance.
• Ensure through Senior Technical Officers, the effective and efficient use and development of the workforce.
• Carry out such other duties as may be assigned by the Engineering staff.
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the City Engineer from time to time.
Qualifications
Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering plus three years relevant experience
OR
B. Tech degree in Highway Engineering or Construction Management plus two years experience in a related field.
OR
National Diploma in Civil Engineering or Highway Engineering plus seven years experience in a related field.
