SUMMARY: VODAFONE PROJECT

The Vodafone Foundation funds and manages projects using mobile communication technologies to address some of the world’s most pressing humanitarian challenges and to enhance people’s quality of life under its Mobile for Good programme. The Foundation achieves this objective by using its privileged access to Vodafone/Vodacom networks, technology, customers and employees to empower people with the necessary tools to make a difference in the world.

The purpose of the position is to ensure provision of high quality HTC and vital signs especially children less than five years through index tracking and testing and community based testing of children at high risk.

The placement of these positions will be determined by the scope of work at any given time and may change from district to district. The positions report directly to the Nurse.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Conduct pre and post-test HTC counseling sessions as per counseling protocols
Provide supportive counseling to HTC clients
Under the supervision of a nurse conduct vital signs monitoring, weight and height, TB screening, STI screening and blood glucose monitoring.
Assists clients in the selection of appropriate community support through referrals
Data entry of confidential client information
Participate in client satisfaction surveys, as requested by Supervisor
Participate in the QC and QA program related to HIV testing and Counseling as directed by the National Laboratory.
Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

Certificate in Nursing with experience in HIV testing and counselling.
Work experience in MCH services including PMTCT and Pediatric HIV/AIDS.
Currently Listed with the Lesotho Nursing Council

KEY COMPETENCIES:

Ability to work according to PSI Lesotho Prime competencies
Demonstrate knowledge of health and social services sector
Understanding of reproductive health issues, especially HIV/AIDS
Demonstrated ability to work sensitively and compassionately with a diverse range of clients, including highly marginalized and stigmatized populations
Fluency in English and Sesotho
Computer literacy preferred
Communication skills
