REPORTS TO: Metallurgy Manager
DUTY STATION: SMD MINE @ KAO
JOB PURPOSE: With the guidance of Metallurgical Management, the Metallurgical Trainee is required to provide Metallurgical assurance to management. The incumbent has to ensure that equipment is operating at optimum efficiency levels, plan &co-ordinate laboratory test work and provide interpretation as well as actions with reference to the laboratory results.
Minimum requirements
Degree/Diploma in Metallurgy, Chemical or Process
Previous plant experience will be an added advantage
Computer literacy is required
Duties and responsibilities
Compliance with all relevant SHE policies and procedures
• Identify hazards and risks in area of responsibility
• Operating Metallurgical Lab and results interpretation
• Implementation of Metallurgical standards and guidelines
• Performing tests to ensure quality is adhered to
• Noticing deviations from standards and correcting them.
• Initiatives to improve quality.
