Benefits Administration Manager

Main Purpose of the Job

To provide strategic leadership and guidance in developing and implementing guidelines and procedures governing retirement benefits administration.

JOB SPECIFICATION

Education and Training:

Masters in Business Administration or equivalent.

Other necessary knowledge:

At least 5 years relevant working experience at Executive Managerial position
Experience in Pension / Retirement Fund and Insurance industry is an added advantage.
Possession of a Driver’s License is an added advantage.
Computer literacy.

Legal Officer 

Main Purpose of the job

Under the general supervision of the Corporate Secretary, the Legal Officer will be responsible for providing legal resources to the Executive Management and assist the Corporate Secretary in the management of the Board’s functions.

JOB SPECIFICATION

Knowledge and Experience Required

LLB or equivalent with a legal practise experience of at least 3 years;
Admitted as an Advocate
Experience in financial or corporate law is an added advantage

Required Competencies

Time management and prioritization;
Excellent written communication and analytical abilities;

Decisive and attention to details;
Computer literacy;
Possession of driver’s license is an added advantage.

World Vision South Africa (WVSA) operates in a middle income country globally, but it’s Gross Domestic Products (GDP) ranks among the top three in Africa. However, the gap between the rich and the poor is widening with ever increasing urban migration to the detriment of both the urban built environment as well as contributing to deepening rural marginalization.
South Africa is contrasted by two economies which equate with World Vision (WV) Model of Ministry context 4 and 2 with a population of over 52 million, children living in poverty with 4 million going to sleep every day without food (Human Science Research Council Report on Poverty, 2007) 34 % of population lives on less than $2/ day while 25% live on less than $1.25/day.
National Director, World Vision South Africa
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
  • Strategically lead, develop and direct the implementation of all aspects of World Vision South Africa Ministry as an effective member of the Partnership in line with Twin Citizenship principles to ensure high Ministry quality and high impact in the field; be accountable for all of aspects of WV’s work in the country.
  • Successfully lead the change process of World Vision South Africa’s transition from a funded entity, to a wholly self-sustainable office, responsible for its own fund raising.
  • Ensure that WV South Africa’s ministry is directly contributing to the sustained well-being of children including their rights, protection and participation, within their families and communities.
  • Ensure organisational sustainability by providing leadership, strategic direction and support in the development and implementation of an effective National Resource Development Strategy that will lead to Increased and diversified funding portfolio.
  • Establishment and maintenance of collaborative partnerships between WV South Africa and donors, partners, all tiers of government, churches and other non-governmental organizations.
  • Observe World Vision core documents (Vision, Mission, Statement of Faith, Core Values and Covenant of Partnership) and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others.
  • Director of Global Investigations
  • The Director of Global Investigations will develop and implement a Global investigation strategy, fraud risk assessment policy, and fraud risk assessment dashboard, as they lead and direct the investigation teams. This will be done through the identification of fraud red flags, as the group plans, organizes and manages all investigations of alleged and actual fraud (i.e. misappropriation, embezzlement, corruption, severe misconduct, mismanagement, misuse of resources, or abuse of authority.) These activities will be done through careful collaboration with key stakeholders such as Global Centre (GC) and Regional Legal Counsels, People & Culture (P&C/HR), Support Offices (SOs), Regional Leaders (RLs), National Directors (NDs) on a need to know and do basis.
    This position works to mitigate risks to the successful implementation of World Vision International's (WVI) 2030 Strategy through careful analysis of ongoing trends in fraud and corruption, and proactive assessment of WVI’s policies and procedures that combat these issues.
    The incumbent will provide technical support, oversight and direction of investigations of fraud against the Partnership while sharing results with key stakeholders, including Senior Management Teams and Audit/Risk Committees, and will ensure the growth and development of staff under his or her direction.
  • Regional Security Director, Southern Africa
  • PURPOSE OF POSITION:
    The main purpose of this role is to provide security and crisis leadership for the region that is informed by an understanding of the complex operating context to help the organisation deliver programmes, respond to changes quickly and systematically manage security risks to an acceptable level. The work involves contributing to the creation of an adaptive and resilient organisation that is prepared for, responds well to, and recovers quickly from adverse events using a ‘continuous improvement’ approach. A secondary purpose includes providing support and thought leadership as a member of the global team, including providing surge capacity and acting as Operations Director when needed. Importantly, this role is tasked with seeing the bigger picture, thinking collaboratively and taking action.
