Applications are invited from suitably qualified and interested individuals to apply for the following positions at National Drug Service organization (NDSO) Mafeteng, in the Logistics Department. The successful candidate must be willing and prepared to stay at Mafeteng due to the inherent requirements of the job.
Position LOGISTICS MANAGER
Reports to General Manager
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy
Must be registered with the Lesotho Medical, Dental and Pharmacy Council and must further be able to have the retention certificate for the year 2014
Experience Minimum of three years experience in management position
Summary of the Job Description
The Logistics Manager is responsible for ensuring the Good Warehousing Practices and management of the day-to-day activities within the warehouse including, but not limited to receiving, warehousing and dispatch.
List of Duties.
Receiving: Develop, implement and review the procedures in relation to:
• Receiving and signing of delivery documents from the couriers.
• Physical inspection of consignments from the Suppliers.
• Capturing and posting of the products received in to the stock records and their respective location in the warehouse.
• Addressing queries associated with deliveries by Suppliers and return to vendors.
• Pre-packing of products into cartons ready for distribution according to the practical figures for distribution.
Warehousing: Develop, implement and review procedures in relation to:
• Forecasting and quantification of products requirements either on monthly or annual basis.
• Requesting products required for procurement by the Procurement Department within the Organization.
• Physical stock count and reconciliation of discrepancies identified during the stock count activities.
• Good warehousing practices for Pharmaceutical products in accordance with acceptable standards.
Dispatch: Develop, implement and review procedures in relation to:
• Processing of the picking lists from the Customer Service Department.
• Packing, cartoning and delivery of the consignments to the Customers.
• Appropriate documentation and allocation of Human resource that will ensure efficient and effective delivery to the Customers.
General: Develop, implement and review procedures in relation to:
• Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Security within the warehouse, products in transit and after delivery.
• Implementation of the Performance Management System of the Organization.
• Any activities necessary for the efficient and effective running of the warehouse.
Performance Standards.
• Stock records accuracy level (target; >98%)
• Average lead-time of order processing. (Target; 7 days Gov and 1 day private).
• value of expired stock as a percentage total stock value (target 3% or less).
• All the relevant tools and documents developed, implemented and regularly reviewed.
• Employees within the Procurement Department meet their respective targets as defined in the overall performance management of the Organization.
