Control Tower Officer
Location: Pune
Introduction:
Parts and services logistics operations are responsible for all logistics operations within a specific region. This includes warehouse and freight operations for core network.
Parts and services logistics operations focus on delivering efficiency and cost targets for core network, supported by logistics transformation team (RFQ warehousing, vendor management, process design & audits). It also focuses on continuous improvement to ensure enhanced efficiencies and cost reductions.
The Role:
Sandvik is seeking a Control Tower Officer to be responsible for the day to day management of the logistics shipments and to meet the service requirements set against freight costs control & allocation.
Key Performance Areas:
General
Strong focus on safety is a must, in planning and implementing the global and regional business infrastructure in line with Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology’s EHS policies, procedures and objective at all times.
Direct management responsibility
- Management of logistics shipment centralization, standardization, control & visibility.
- Day to day operative and administrative tasks to support transport logistics processes and activities within Distribution.
- Works actively with other internal functions within Supply Chain Distribution as well as frontline (regions and particularly regional sales companies).
- Shipments and transport planning and operational execution (Freight Planning , Freight Consolidation and Freight Booking)
- Monitor shipments On Time Delivery ( From pick up to POD)
- Resolve Freight issues (short shipment, replacement, cargo damaged, cargo missing & etc)
- Support Logistics Operations Team on Outbound Freight Report- Daily review and resolution of outstanding orders where source change has to be done, where it is linked to PO or DRP or where an order needs to be placed
Qualification & Experience:
- Completed B.Com. / B.A. / B.B.A. / Diploma Engineering and also done post graduate diploma in commercial / supply chain / international trade. Minimum of 5 to 6 years’ experience in a similar position in a Warehousing/Distribution/Supply Chain environment, preferably with core competence in the transportation area.
- Good knowledge of main outbound transport logistics and On Time Delivery processes in general.
- Good working knowledge of International Trade and Freight processes
- Prior exposure to Aurora, DI and Qlikview is an advantage
- Proficient in Microsoft office,
- Exposure to (Sandvik) EHS management systems
