Head of Investigations, Africa
The role
Assist management in the investigation and mitigation of instances of non-compliance with the Group Code of Conduct, in particular the investigation of suspected irregular conduct.
Key performance areas
Investigations:
- Undertake investigations into allegations of non-compliance with the Sandvik Group Code of Conduct
- Provide advice and guidance to management on investigation matters including advice on compliance matters and assistance to develop risk mitigation strategies as defined
- Ensure the effective communication of the Group Global 'Speak Up' whistle blower (WB) system
- Evaluation of WB's and recommend investigation actions where considered appropriate
- Liaison with law enforcement organizations as required and recommending criminal charges or other disciplinary action, where appropriate
- Provide management information to monitor the effectiveness of the investigation function
- Establish proactive prevention strategies in effectively managing risks to the business
- Manage and supervise all services providers to the Internal Investigations Department
- Maintain Africa Case Management System and integrate results into the Global Case Management System
- Manage and supervise Security Incidents data - maintain own local data base and statistics
Pre & Post Employment Vetting (South Africa & Africa as requested / mandated):
- Compliance with current vetting policy
- Carry out appropriate investigations into results of vetting and screening performed
- Implement and maintain AFIS system and processes
- Maintain data base and statistics of vetting performed and results of follow up procedures performed
G.T.P.P. (Global Third Party Program) – Vendor Vetting
- Liaison with appointed Local Compliance Officer (L.C.O) and Procurement Managers (P.M):
- Provide all requested Investigations support and report on Individuals & Companies as requested
- Carry out other due diligence investigations as required / mandated
- Maintain own local data base and statistics of vendor vetting performed
Gift Declarations:
- Maintain local data base
- Monitor declarations and follow up - escalate all queries
General Administration:
- Annual Budget presentation and budget control & compliance
- Service provider invoice authorization and payments
- Maintain appropriate records and registers of expenditure
- Reporting to management committees at local and global level
Your profile
- A tertiary qualification in Investigations, Forensic, Legal or Risk Management or equivalent
- Completion of relevant investigative and Risk Management programs would be an advantage
- Knowledge of applicable legislation, e.g. LRA, Laws of Criminal Procedure and Evidence, Corruption Act, Proceeds of Crime, Money Laundering, Public Entities legislation, BCEA etc
