VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Position: Family Strengthening Program Officer
We seek two dynamic and energetic Basotho nationals to provide support to our Family Strengthening Programme (FSP) based at SOS Children's Villages in Maseru and Quthing. The FS Programmes' aim is to prevent child abandonment by strengthening the capacity of families and communities to care for their children.
Field Officer is a link between SOS and community, shall be responsible for proper and effective implementation of family development plans within areas of operation. Working hand in hand with the partner Community Based Organisation and community stakeholders, the Field Officer will among other things ensure proper service delivery to children and assist the caregivers to be capacitated in child care issues.
Key Responsibilities
• Support family-carers in their interaction with beneficiary families
• Do initial assessments of beneficiary families
• Support the implementation of the Family Development Planning (FDP) process
• Monitor the provision of programme services to beneficiary families
• Assist with the delivery of services
• Programme Planning and Budgeting
Required Skills, Qualifications and Competencies
• Minimum two years working experience in a community development programme
• Child and youth development experience
• Experience in community empowerment/development
• Report writing and record keeping skills
• Degree in Social Work/Community Development/Education/Health Science/Agriculture/Business Studies
