Overview:
Based in Maseru, Lesotho, the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is looking for a 6-month Volunteer to support our expanding work in health financing. The volunteer will report to the Health Financing Associate and will provide critical support to the government in understanding funding need for key health area. S/He will assist the Ministry of Health securing funding for HIV, TB & Labs programs with various donors.
S/he will be a part of a team that works in close partnership with the Ministry of Health, cooperating on a regular basis with donors, partner organizations and NGOs. The Volunteer will be called upon primarily to support these efforts both strategically and analytically.
The candidate must have excellent communications skills and cultural sensitivity as s/he will be working closely with MoH partners. S/he must be able to manage multiple tasks and drive multiple work plans forward. S/he must exhibit a passion for results and commitment to excellence. Responsibilities:
- Support the costing & impact analysis of the TB National Strategic Plan
- Support the country Global Fund application process for HIV, TB & HSS
- Analyze specific funding flows and supporting the identification of potential areas of inefficiencies, resource needs, and resource reallocation;
- Support design and implementation of long term health financing strategic plans;

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree plus relevant professional experience in a demanding, result-oriented environment, preferably
- Excellent problem solving, analytical and quantitative skills, including significant experience working in Excel;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and an ability to build professional relationships;
- Ability to learn on the job quickly and absorb/synthesize a broad range of information
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment;
- Ability to work independently on complex projects
- Knowledge of Global Fund & PEPFAR funding mechanism preferred.
