The DDPR invites applications from suitably qualified Basotho candidates for the position of ARBITRATOR. The post will be tenable either at Maseru or Leribe or Mohale’s Hoek.
The Arbitrator shall be answerable to the Director in the performance of the following duties and responsibilities –
Prevention and Resolution of trade disputes through conciliation and arbitration (Con-Arb) in accordance with the law;
Advising employers, employers’ organizations, employees and trade unions on the best ways of prevention and resolution of trade disputes;
Compiling and publishing information about DDPR activities; statistics on dispute prevention and resolution; and significant arbitration awards;
Conducting research about the new developments in labour law and labour relations;
Supporting the organizational management and development; and
Reporting monthly to the Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in dispute prevention and resolution or conflict management or litigation may be an advantage.
B Degree in Law or Human Resources; plus
Post Graduate Diploma in Law (Conciliation and Arbitration) or a course on conciliation, mediation and arbitration services;
