Social Worker
SUMMARY:
Answerable to the Chief Gender Officer (Post Violence Care Centre). The incumbent will carry out his or her duties of providing Psychosocial support and care to perpetrators and survivors of gender based violence (GBV), mediate in disputes and conflict employing restorative principles, provide trauma and containment counseling to survivors of GBV, formulate and implement care plan and therapeutic programs, and engage in GBV prevention programs and advocacy.
This position reports to the Chief Gender Officer with a dotted line to the Gender Based
Violence Manager
Duties include but are not limited to:
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor Degree in Social Work plus two years’ work experience dealing with Gender Based Violence.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
Good communication skills
Must be of sober habits
Must be able to communicate in English and fluency in Sesotho
Willingness to work flexible and evening hours as required

- Conducts interviews, needs assessment of survivors and perpetrators of GBV.
- Provides counseling and follow-up of survivors and perpetrators of GBV.
- Mediates in disputes and conflicts employing restorative practices.
- Referring clients to different role players within the Center and other Stakeholders.
- Formulates and follows after care plan for survivors and perpetrators of GBV.
- Determines clients’ needs and links them with internal and external resources.
- Collects clients from different referral places to the Centre.
- Collaborates with other stakeholders in the fight against GBV.
- Reports progress achieved and provides feedback of cases respecting confidentiality standards of profession and Centre.
- Perform further related duties requested by supervisor.
