DStv Digital Media is on the lookout for a graphic designer with a flair for creating eye-catching, mobile-first, responsive images that showcase our editorial content.
Bring an eye for aesthetic detail, and an understanding of what makes a digital destination rich and relevant to an array of users across the continent.
Work with a fun, dynamic team of communication specialists who create video and editorial content for DStv’s digital platforms.

Key requirements:
As a Designer we need you to create exceptional images that showcase content, provide context and enhance our customers’ user experiences across our digital platforms.
You should be fluent in the conceptualisation and creation of mobile-first, digital imagery. And will need to use your expertise in the Adobe Product Suite on a day-to-day basis.
This role requires dynamic thinking and quick and efficient, quality turn-around.
The role:
  • Design a variety of images types to support all digital requirements.
  • Interpret and translate product and business briefs.
  • Work with communication specialists, stakeholders, content creators, and UX analysts to ensure that designs are implemented easily and effectively.
  • Test cross-browser, cross-platform, and/or cross-device compatibility for inconsistencies.
  • Test for compliance to specified standards.
  • Execute last minute demands, and deliver within quick turn-around times.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve collective goals; understand the viewpoints and perceptions of others; be sensitive to team dynamics and build trust and confidence in others.
  • Share knowledge and assist in developing a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Skills
  • Expertise in working with the Adobe Product Suite.
  • Fundamental understanding of good design principles.
  • Understanding of multi-platform layouts and standards.
  • Understanding of usability and interactive design concepts.
  • Experience in designing and constructing, mobile and website graphic assets.
  • Understanding of adaptive, responsive techniques.
  • Knowledge of best practice methods to ensure web performance, accessibility, browser + device compatibility.
  • Knowledge of hardware: Mac, PC based platforms, Adobe Product Suite.
  • Knowledge of relevant software packages, Trello.
  • Understanding of file formats, file transfer and optimisation.
  • Competent in site management and organisation.
  • Publishing to a content management system.
Experience
  • A degree or diploma in Multimedia Studies.
  • Minimum of three years’ work experience as a designer.
  • Fluent with the Adobe Product Suite.
  • Experience working in responsive digital environments.
  • Experience of working within a CMS.
  • Experience working within an editorial team will be advantageous.
