The above Grade F position exists in the QA Department within Technical. The position provides opportunity for a young and talented individual who wishes to develop a career in this exciting industry as a Lab Technician
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB.
The primary purpose of the job is to carry out sampling, sample preparation and analysis of raw materials, in-process samples and packaged product.
KEY RESULT AREAS & OUTPUTS
Maintain equipment and workplace
• Maintain and calibrate all inspection equipment
• Verify equipment against manualised procedures so as to achieve accurate & reliable results.
• Interpret & interrogate data in order to assess equipment & operator performance
Analyze samples
• Prepare samples and conduct analysis
• Analyze lab samples and produce results as per set standards
Maintain a safe and healthy working environment
• Maintain housekeeping standards
• Comply with safety, health and environment procedures and legislation
• Support problem solving initiatives
• Adhere to the PPE policy and identify unsafe practices
Work in teams
• Communicate effectively in the workplace
• Contribute to self and team development
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
• At minimum a Diploma in Microbiology or Bio-Medical Sciences
• A working experience in FMCG Company will be an added advantage
