Contractors Supervisor
in the Engineering Division
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho Nationals for the above-mentioned position. The incumbent will be responsible to Section Engineer Projects. The position is tenable in Maseru, Planning & Projects Department.
QUALIFICATIONS
Diploma in Electrical Engineering
BSc Engineering or BTech Electrical Engineering will be an added advantage
EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years experience in the supervision of projects
Computer Literacy is essential.
Knowledge of safety rules and construction standards will be an added advantage.
Must have a valid drivers licence

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Supervises implementation of allocated jobs/allocated projects.
Enforces contractors’ adherence to construction design and standards.
Communicates any changes to original designs with designers before implementation.
Adheres to safety and health standards during implementation of LEC works.
Monitors site establishment, offices and storage facility by contractors for safekeeping of LEC materials during construction.
Monitors continuous update of construction maps by contractors in accordance with progress on site.
Prepares AS-BUIT drawings for submission to the Designers in case of projects and to GIS in case of individual connections.
Updates connections records in accordance with LEWA’s reporting requirements.
Prepares outages and carries out network switching during outages.
Invites concerned department for inspection, testing and commissioning of project works as and when necessary.
Assess each contractor on every project they undertake for final overall performance report.

Prepares tender documents for all projects of electrification, system improvements, refurbishments and network expansion.
Prepares contracts documents for all the projects and facilitate for their signing.
Arranges and attends project site meetings.
Validates As-Built drawings.
Provides commissioning data of all connected customers to Metering for commissioning and forward the relevant information to customer services.
Validates all contractors’ invoices for projects progress payments.
Manages projects in accordance with set contract requirements.
Constantly update progress on projects, both physical and financial.
Prepares internal payment certification documents for projects progress payments.
Prepares projects report in accordance with the set performance targets.
Facilitates filing and archiving of all projects.
