Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation (EGPAF) is a USA based Organization with public health programs around the World. It creates a future of hope for children and families worldwide by eradicating pediatric AIDS, providing care and treatment for people with HIV and AIDS, and accelerating the discovery of new treatments for other serious and life threatening pediatric illnesses. EGPAF`s work is funded through private donations, PEPFAR via the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)), UNICEF, UNITAID, Cepheid etc.
The Foundation invites suitable candidates to launch their applications for the following vacant positions:
1.Technical Team Assistant (1)
Manage Program Director’s diary
Provide administrative support to the Programs
Coordination / managerial roles as delegated by the PD
Technical Support of Trainings and Meetings
• Diploma in Administration
• BA Administration or BA degree in Mass Communication is an added advantage
• 3 to 5 years progressive work experience as a Program Assistant
• Previous experience in working with international NGOs is an added advantage preferably USG funded.
2.Community Advisor (1)
This position serves as the Community Outreach Advisor for the foundation and is responsible for navigating activities related to HIV testing, linkage to HIV medical care, retention and the re- engagement of HIV-positive individuals into medical care, treatment and support services.
The position would work closely with a multidisciplinary team of counsellors and clinicians to ensure patients receive needed medications and health care. There are also opportunities to work with health center and physicians to promote our services
• Diploma in Nursing and midwifery (Minimum) or
• BSc in Nursing
• Further training in community nursing
• A Master degree in community nursing or MPH is an added advantage
• Registered with the nursing council
• At least 5 years’ experience in HIV Community work. Having worked with Community Based Organizations (CBO) is an added advantage.
3.Nutrition Advisor (1)
The EGPAF Nutrition Advisor will work in the whole of Lesotho, to strengthen and intensify EGPAF support in Infant and Maternal nutrition within the context of HIV/AIDS, in collaboration with other partners. The EGPAF Nutrition Advisor will be responsible for designing and implementing appropriate food and nutrition strategies adapted to the needs and resources of each EGPAF- supported Health facility in line with the national policies and guidelines.
• Degree in Nutrition or Nursing, Masters Level preferred.
• Post graduate qualification in HIV/ AIDS.
• Must have at least 5 years nutrition work experience.
• Knowledge of relevant national/or international policy guidelines with thorough understanding of nutrition concepts and practice.
• Willingness to travel frequently to sites to provide technical assistance, training, mentorship and facilitative supervision.
4.IT Officer/Technician (1)
Under the guidance and direct supervision of the IT Manager, the IT Officer will Assist all Foundation staff with any hardware, software, Internet & email related problems that they may be experiencing from time to time, in an efficient & effective manner. Ensure that the network, electricity supply, switchboard & other technical systems within the Company are functional at all times. Assist IT Manager, as required, in the maintenance of all Foundation customized software applications. Ensure that the Company policies with regards to IT usage are adhered to by all staff & report any discrepancies to the IT Manager. • Degree in Information Systems or similar experience,
• A+, N+ qualification
• Advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Workstation Operating Systems and Applications ( Windows 7, Windows 8, Server 2008, MS Office 2013)
• The IT Officer must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience,
• Strong knowledge of computers, LAN, printers and how they operate, which includes having a broad understanding of LAN, hardware and software, operating systems and basic computer programming.
• Familiarity with electronic equipment, Internet applications and security.
• This position requires frequent travelling across all the 10 districts of Lesotho
5.Quality Improvement Advisor (1)
Builds capacity on QI principles/ methods at the site, district, and national levels
Translates national QI policies and guidelines for implementation at district and site level
Collaborates with national QI partners
Oversees QI Officers • University degree in Nursing or Medicine • Experience in HIV and care, preference for clinical or nursing working experience.
• Prior experience in implementing quality improvement Programs.
6.Temporary Field Interviewer (10)
The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) Lesotho seeks field interviewers with experience in the conduct of household surveys in a public health setting. Interviewers will be responsible for recruiting, screening, consenting and interviewing of study participants in villages in Butha Buthe, Thaba-Tseka, Mohale's Hoek and Maseru districts. This position will entail extensive walking on a daily basis.
• At least a Bachelor’s degree in a social science field
• Strong proficiency in English and Sesotho, both written and oral
• Willingness to travel outside of residence for periods of time (as needed) • Experience with conducting household surveys
7.Temporary Community HIV Tester (10)
The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) Lesotho seeks experienced community HIV testers for a study involving household surveys. The testers will be responsible for providing pre- and post-test HIV counseling and testing to study participants in their homes. The testers will accompany study staff who will be interviewing study participants in villages in Butha Buthe, Thaba-Tseka, Mohale's Hoek and Maseru districts. This position will entail extensive walking on a daily basis.
• At least a C.O.S.C certificate
• HIV testing and counselling training certificate
• Strong proficiency in English and Sesotho, both written and oral
• Willingness to travel outside of residence for periods of time as needed • Experience working in the HIV field
