Instrumentation Technician (2)
Storm Mountain Diamonds (PTY) Ltd invites applications from suitably qualified Lesotho citizens for the above mentioned position.
Purpose of the job:
The mine is situated in Lesotho and is in the process of expanding the current operations plant. Currently the mine delivers 300kt per month through the plant. On completion of the expansion project, due in May 2016 the expected plant though put will rise to 400kt per month. The plant expansion will make use of XRT forting Technology. Reporting directly to the Plant Engineering Foreman the instrumentation technician is responsible for the following:
Key Performance areas:
• Procure, install and troubleshoot a variety of instrument equipment
• Calibrate manufacturing instrumentation according to procedures
• Perform routine PMS on XRT sorter equipment
• Troubleshoot PLC and XRT sorters
• Assist other maintenance technicians with assigned tasks in the plant area where required
• Compete required safety tasks and activities
• Complete instrument tracking documentation
• Develop procedures for instrument calibration and preventative maintenance tasks as per OEM recommendation on XRT sorters and other equipment
• Support facility operations by completing assigned work orders
• Main task and responsibility will be determined by the XRT sorting machines
REQUIREMENTS
The following are required for this job:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATONS:
COSC/Matric
• Recognized Instrumentation Technician qualification (Minimum Instrumentation Mechanician Qualification)
WORK EXPERIENCE:
• At least 5 years Practical industrial experience on SCADA, PLC, instrumentation equipment and equipment calibration according to defined standards set by OEM suppliers
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• Strong electrical and mechanical skills
• Demonstrated commitment to quality workmanship and flexibility in job assignments
• Ability to and initiative to complete job assignments in a timely manner
• Follow safe work practices and standard operating procedures
• Ability to lift up 25 kg and climb ladders
• Able to work in a team environment
