NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF LESOTHO INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
Applications are invited from suitably qualified teachers for the post of Secondary Teacher at the National University of Lesotho International School (NULIS).  The school has a roll of about 300 students in the Primary Section (Reception – Grade 7) and over 200 students in the Secondary Section (Grade 8 – 12).  The students come from varying socio-economic and multicultural backgrounds.  The successful candidate will be required to teach Sesotho and Geography in the Secondary Section and will be expected to participate fully in extra curricular activities. 

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Graduate teacher with qualifications and majors in Sesotho and Geography.
  • A minimum of three (3) years teaching experience at Secondary/High school level is a prerequisite.
  • Experience at International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) will be an added advantage.
  • A relevant post-graduate diploma/degree will also be preferred.

Duties:
  • To teach Sesotho (both Language and Literature) and Geography in the Secondary Section(Grade 8-12)
  • To conduct at least two extra-curricular activities and one club offered by the school.
  • To participate in all school activities and functions.
Post No. 3345: Assistant Archivist/Archivist
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Archivist at the National University of Lesotho. The successful candidates will be part of the senior library staff cadre and will be based in the Archives, Records Management, Museum and Documentation Division (AREMDOD).
NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF LESOTHO LIBRARY:
 
 Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
 
Minimum of BA degree in Archives and Records Management or Library and Information Studies.  MA degree Library Information Studies would be preferred.
A minimum of one year experience working in an archival institution, documentation centre or a Library.
Understanding of ICT practices, application and tools in archives, documentation centre and libraries setting.
Experience in management of archival and grey material.
Ability to perform online and offline information searches.
Knowledge and contextual understanding of cataloguing (abstracting and indexing services).
Duties:
Assisting in the running and administration of the Division
Professionally processing all materials collected by the Division
Indexing and abstracting records and other materials
Compiling guides and other information sources that promote the use of the Division
Serving the reference needs of the University community, students in general and researcher from all over the confines of archives usage
Compiling statistical reports regarding the usage of archival materials
Assisting in enforcing the rules and regulations pertaining to the use of archives and other collections
Take lectureship on Information Literacy lessons.
May, on rotational basis, act in the absence of the Head of Division.
Performing any other duties that may be assigned by the Senior Archivist. 

Post No. 0806: Documentalist/Librarian
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Archivist at the National University of Lesotho. A minimum of one (1) year experience in library/documentation centre.
Good background and experience in information management, cataloguing, abstracting and indexing.
Competencies in ICT practices, application and tools in Documentations centres/ Libraries.
Familiarity or exposure to document management and maintenance of databases
Experience in online and offline information searches.
Willingness to keep abreast of new developments in the field of information technology.
Experience in research would be an advantage.
 
Duties:
Manage Collections emanating from the former Institutes of Education and Southern African Studies (IE & ISAS) Documentation centres
Collect, organize, catalogue, classify incoming documents
Reassures efficient production of current awareness of  newly acquired
Train clients on how to use the databases        
Participate in digitization schemes
Liaise with systems Librarian regarding automation and capturing items into the systems
Take responsibility of creation/supervision of information repackaging
Take lectureship on Information Literacy lessons
Assess and evaluate performance in the relevant sections of AREMDOD
May, on rotational basis, act in the absence of the Head
Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Head of AREMDOD. 

Post No. 0726: Library Officer
The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following post:

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Diploma in Library and Information Studies
Experience in using automated library systems
Experience of having worked in any Documentation centre/Library environment is desirable.
 
 Duties:
Attending to the Circulation duties in the Documentation and Archives Sections of Archives, Records Management and Museum and Documentation Division (AREMDOD)
Attending to Front Desk queries at the AREMDOD
Shelving
Shelf-reading
Assisting in the preparation and implementation of Library Orientation
Assisting in the repackaging of information
Assisting in collecting and processing documents  and archival materials
Assisting with Documentation/Library programs and any other services as required
Contributing to the ongoing development endeavours of library services via specific project teams as necessary
Attending to general clerical duties
Performing any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Strong computer skills
Commitment to a high level of customer care
Good communication skills, both oral and written
Initiative and ability to work in a team environment
Strong organizational skills
Expected to work scheduled hours (comprising evenings/nights, weekend and public holidays)

The University offers salaries and other benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Employment type:
Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable for Locals and Contract for Non – Locals.
