University Research Co., LLC – CDC Laboratory Project is dedicated to support Laboratory Diagnosis
and Monitoring to scale up and Improve HIV/AIDS Care and Treatment services in the Kingdom of
Lesotho under PEPFAR. The project invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the
following positions.
Point of Care Testing (POCT) Officer
Primary responsibilities:
• Develop and review guidelines, SOPs, and training materials
• Support on-site and off -site laboratory based trainings including refresher training to Health Care
Workers (HCWs) (nurses and lay counselors) who provide HIV RT and POCT services.
• Support the National Reference HIV RT Lab QA Unit in efforts related to HIV RT EQA/PT program
• Provide technical assistance in analyzing EQA/PT data, and guide implementation of corrective
action/s to ensure quality testing services
Required Qualifications and Experience:
• Degree/diploma in laboratory sciences
• At least five years of experience with laboratory services, including QMS and POC testing
• Experience with USG funded programs and reporting requirements preferred.
• Experience in report writing and analyzing data
M&E/HMIS Officer
Primary responsibilities:
• Manage overall M&E functions of the project and provide technical assistance for HMIS
• Support in designing and developing comprehensive M&E plans at project level leading towards
improved and unified program quality
• Assist to develop and review M&E tools that will ensure accurate project tracking and reporting.
• Support baseline, annual surveys, and special studies on timely basis, data management, analysis
and reporting of data collected
• Assist with the implementation of key M&E and learning activities
Required Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Biostatistics, Public Health, Statistics or a development
related field
• At least five years of professional experience implementing M&E for programs related to HIV and
AIDS, Laboratory, health and nutrition and/or emergency response programming
• Demonstrated skills in M&E design with previous experience in application of quantitative and
qualitative research methodologies
• Experience in designing multi-sector integrated computer databases, mobile application and or
use of web based M&E systems
Supply Chain Coordinator
Primary responsibilities:
• Plays a key role in linking up with the MOH, Global Fund, CHAI, and Supply Chain Partner and
supporting the procurement processes on the project
• Support laboratories to implement national equipment standards
• Support laboratory supply chain commodities to ensure functional and reliable equipment
• Procure minor equipment and lab supplies to ensure HIV services are provided uninterrupted
Required Qualifications and Experience:
• Degree/diploma in laboratory sciences
• Public Health background
• 3 years of experience in Health commodities management within public and private sector
(forecasting, procurement, distribution and monitoring);
• 2 years’ experience previous work in HIV/AIDS prevention of Care and Treatment program or
projects
• In-depth understanding/knowledge of national and international drugs/ARV policy and
procurement issues an advantage
Zonal Coordinators (To be based in Maseru, Leribe and Mohale’s Hoek)

Primary responsibilities:
• Facilitate implementation of activities at the regional level and supporting the national project
office
• Direct project operations in mentored laboratories in region of responsibility.
• Provide support at zonal level in HIV RT EQA/PT, VL roll out plan, and POC testing.
• Supervise and directing appropriate project monitoring and evaluation activities to assure
quality implementation of the project.
• Ensuring a steady supply of laboratory chain commodities
• Prepare all required project reports and submitting them on time to the Project Director.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum of a BSc in Medical Laboratory/Biomedical Sciences obtained from a recognized
institution.
• Minimum five years’ experience working in a busy general hospital and/or research laboratory
preferably in a leadership position.
• Experience with USG funded programs and reporting requirements preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in laboratory field.
• Experience in report writing and analyzing data
