Marketing Officer Wanted at National University of Lesotho


The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified and energetic candidates for the post of Marketing Officer. The incumbent will report directly to the Director – Communications & Marketing.

  1. KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS
  • Create and implement a Marketing Strategy for the University
  • Develop, implement and measure strategies and activities with constituencies on the campus to market their programmes and services and generate revenue
  • Commission or conduct market research, analyse marketing trends and make cost-effective decisions for promotion of NUL products and services
  • Develop student recruitment materials
  • Initiate development of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials, promotional materials, University memorabilia and corporate videos.
  • Develop proposals and implement other projects for seeking support from foundations, international donors, alumni, and the community
  • Develop and/or oversee the development of University documents
  • Develop a Branding Guide for the University, including logo to assure consistency in all university materials
  • Oversee the design and print and distribution of the University and Faculty brochures as well as distribution to relevant stakeholders
  • Consolidate content and manage the University website
  • Plan and implement events and promotional materials that encourage alumni involvement, increase good will and positive relationships with NUL
  • Develop and maintain a data base of external partnership and nurture those partnerships for on-going support to the University
  • Plan promotional campaigns that target potential donors and students for recruitment and retention of existing ones
  • Represent NUL in national exhibitions.

  1. Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, business or related field. A Master’s Degree will be preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in marketing or advertising
  • Evidence of development of marketing strategies and effective marketing skills
  • Work experience in marketing or advertising
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, professional printing/publishing skills are essential, including ability to present concepts verbally
  • Proficiency in developing cost-effective ways of promoting NUL products and services
  • Graphic designing skills are essential.
  • Evidence of creation of campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
  • Evidence of ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Evidence of ability to use current technologies including digital/social media in marketing
  • Evidence of ethical and professional behaviour
  • Evidence of producing results and meeting deadlines

Remuneration:
The University offers salaries and other benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Employment type:
Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable for Locals and Contract for Non – Locals.
