Freight Administrator- Imports
The role
Shipping department forms part of Shared Services within Sandvik Group S.A. Duties include registration of Sandvik Group SA imports and Exports. Interfacing with freight forwarders, and divisions within Sandvik and freight invoice allocations. Audit support when required. Expediting of exports.
The Freight Administrator will register imports for Sandvik Mining RSA and Sandvik Pty Ltd. The function will include the following duties:
  • Completion of clearing instructions – Air, sea and road Freight
  • Checking of import documents as per SARS customs requirements and SA Reserve Bank
  • Interface with departments within Sandvik which will cover – delivery confirmation and cost allocations as per shipment
  • Submission of MRN number to Overseas creditors for payment purposes
  • Perform internal audits as per the Sandvik Internal Audit programme
  • Filing procedure as per SARS requirements.
Your Profile
  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Computer Literate
  • English proficiency
  • Understanding of the SA Revenue Services – customs and excise requirements
  • Previous import/export experience and an understanding of incoterms, min 3-5 years
  • Basic understanding S A Reserve Bank requirements
  • Diploma/certificate which relates to Logistics/supply chain management will be an advantage
  • Be a team player and be open to being trained and developing skills that can add value to a shared service department, and be able to multi task when required.
