We're currently recruiting for an Africa Programme Funding Manager who will provide sustained hands-on support and technical direction to in-country and regional fundraising activities (and grant management) across our Africa Country Programmes working closely with Country Directors. We’re looking for someone with a strong institutional fundraising background, with strong remote support and relationship building skills, expertise on at least one of EC, USAID, DfID, or other major global donor, to proactively lead on developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with and technical expertise on key donors.
This role will work closely with the Country Directors and/or Fundraising Managers in our six Africa Country Programmes, with particular support assessing priorities for three programmes who currently do not have an in-country Funding Manager. He/She will support a wide range of fundraising activities and will build the capacity of our staff to effectively lead investment and partnerships work towards the agency’s strategic vision. As part of the London-based Programme Funding Team, the successful candidate will lead on our Africa regional strategy, ensuring that opportunities are identified and award winning proposal submitted by country-programmes in line with our new Investments and Partnership strategy. As part of this, we are looking for someone who can work with our global Policy and Practice team, and US office, to identify opportunities and partners for regional policy engagement.
The post-holder joins Restless Development at a seminal moment as we begin to develop our new Global Strategy (2016-2020). This is an exciting role which involves close working with many teams, with some travel across Africa. The post-holder will be adept at building strong relationships at a distance, will be an innovator and a self-starter, and will look to develop the role as part of a dynamic and in-demand team.
