BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Roads Directorate (RD) has been established through Roads Directorate Act 2010 as a body corporate with perpetual
succession and a non-profit making public institution. It is responsible to the Board of Directors. Roads Directorate
manages road infrastructure and ensures that existing roads and access routes are comprehensively and regularly
maintained and rehabilitated when required, upgraded and extended in an efficient manner to meet the needs of the
economy and the nation. The main functions of the Roads Directorate are road network planning, development and
maintenance; quality assurance as well as construction and maintenance of footbridges.
Roads Directorates invites application from suitably qualified and highly motivated and action oriented candidates for
the under- listed position, tenable at The Roads Directorate.
Position; Manager Laboratory & Quality Control
Number of Posts; 1
BSc/ Bachelor’s Degree In Civil Engineering, a Postgraduate Degree in Highway
Engineering or Transportation/ Construction / Project Management would be an
advantage.
Eight (8) years experience in management of civil engineering works and services, three (3) years should be in field assignment
Position; Senior Design Engineer
Number of Posts;1
BSc/ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, plus eight (8) years in Design of roads and bridges, contract management and supervision of road works
Complete computer literacy and hands-on-practice on design roads or bridges using CAD. Ability to use and interpret results from latest topographic survey equipment
Position; Materials Engineer
Number of Posts; 2
BSc/ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, plus two (2) years experience in road materials testing, soil and geological investigation, quality control and supervision of road works
Position; Engineer
Number of Posts; 1
BSc/ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, plus two (2) years experience in the supervision of road construction works (both equipment and labour based works)
Position; Public Relations Officer
Number of Posts; 1
A qualification in Communication, Graphic Design or related fields at a degree level.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in desktop publishing and graphic design
