X-Ray Instrumentation Technician Wanted at Liqhobong Mining Development Company


Liqhobong Mining Development Company (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Firestone Diamonds PLC, invites suitably qualified and competent Lesotho nationals to apply for the vacant position of X-Ray Instrumentation Technician.

Job purpose

Responsible for ensuring the availability of all Flow sort x-ray machines by maintaining equipment according to Liqhobong Mining Development Company standards and by applying best maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Technician the incumbent will carry out the following duties and responsibilities;

Minimise shutdown time by planning and controlling allocated tasks as requested by Senior Instrumentation Technicians;
Participate in investigating and taking corrective actions in the event of Flow sort x-ray failures and/or incidents;
Ensure that LMDC safety policy is applied by executing scheduled Flow sort x-ray machine inspections on a daily basis;
Apply Flow sort x-ray theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational control equipment of circuitry;
Assemble and test experimental and operational Flow sort x-ray machines, solenoids, electronic boards, ATRS control and other equipment and components according to engineering data, LMDC best practices and Flow sort x-ray machine principles;
Apply good fault finding techniques on all Flow sort x-ray machines, plc/scada process related incidents with corrective action.

Legal and other requirements

Police clearance and medical examinations of fitness
Valid driver’s license

Qualifications and experience

4 years’ hands on industrial experience;
Instrumentation qualification;
Experience in Computerized Maintenance Management System will be an added advantage;
Knowledge of Flow sort x-ray machines in the mining industry;
Knowledge of Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong PLC Knowledge (Allen Bradley);
Strong SCADA knowledge (RS Logix 5000)
