Business Analyst Intern
The role
The Purpose of internships is to obtain workplace skills and professionalism (Business Etiquette) and to put into practice the theory they have been taught. The majority of interns are placed in the department that correlates with their qualification. We aim to have clearly defined roles for interns to ensure that the theoretical understanding gained whilst studying is tested and enhanced through practical application.
This would be a fixed term contract for 12 months.
Key performance areas
Analysis & Reporting
- A Business Analyst analyzes the business objectives of the stakeholder and develops solutions to their business issues.
- A Business Analyst develops a logical data model.
- A Business Analyst analyzes and defines processes of business both “To Be” and “As Is.”
- Identifies, analyzes, and documents business requirements and delivers work products throughout the project life cycle.
- Analyzes the entire business, including data, goals, process, and organization.
- Aids stakeholders in developing their strategic goals.
- Translates business requirements to System/Functional requirements, and then these are passed to Application Developers.
Process Improvement
- Problem solving and prioritising issues identified with the Distribution services area and working with formal and informal teams to develop solutions that can work across the region.
- The main stack holders will be warehouse managers, supervisors, floor staff, Inventory team and Parts and service desk.
- The initiatatives will cover areas identified in improving cost, reliabity, safety and process through;
- Identifying and collating Issues
- Quantifying size, impact and value of existing issues to prioritise work
- Reviewing scope of work to be undertaken
- Designing improvements
- Testing and quantifying improvements
- Implementing improvements and managing change expectations
- Monitoring performance to ensure continued compliance
Your profile
- Diploma /Degree in Accounting with strong focus on Business Economics - ONLY persons with these qualifications need to apply.
- Mining experience would be advantage
- The ability to work efficiently within a team environment and complete duties in an autonomous manner.
- The ability to effectively communicate, liaise and negotiate with a range of stakeholders
- Commitment to excellence and timeliness in internal client service
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Able to adapt to change
- Lateral thinkerCommercially minded with strong analytical skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to work logically, consistently and accurately
- Excellent numeracy skills combined with an inquiring, analytical mind
- Good working knowledge of accounting information, while keeping up to date with changing financial rules and regulations
- Self-motivated and excellent time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer literacy - MS Excel is a must.
- Must be able to work independently
- Deadline driven and ability to work under pressure for long periods
