About the Position

Position: Research Manager – EQUIP
Location: EQUIP, Maseru, Lesotho
Reporting to: Country Director
Qualifications and Experience:
Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Science/ Medical Research Methods or related field
At least 3 years’ prior work experience in related field
Key Performance Areas amongst others include:
Collate and disseminate research
Proactive outreach and collation of clinical and operational research protocols as developed by EQUIP
Work with the Programme manager and Country Director to compile and package research protocols and findings
Support EQUIP draft abstracts and offer guidance on submission to international conferences and global stakeholder platforms
Work with EQUIP to interpret and disseminate research to policy makers and implementers and stakeholders
Support the research development process
Working with head of research and Research Manager at HQ, assist EQUIP with protocol development, design and analysis of EQUIP research studies as needed
Assist EQUIP with oversight as needed to ensure proper procedures (ethics, consent, IRBs) are applied to all EQUIP research projects
Support EQUIP with the writing of scientific publications, including background and methods sections of manuscripts for peer reviewed journals
Assist in the preparation and timely submission to IRBs and other institutions according to set guidelines
Keep informed of current research and methods in order to assist EQUIP identify new research projects and equip EQUIP with emerging research tools
Keep EQUIP updated on epidemiology, policy developments and normative agency guidelines that can assist EQUIP identify and shape future research
Establish and maintain database of research projects
Develop and maintain database of EQUIP-generated research
Collect and organize database of research budgets as executed by EQUIP
Monitor and report on the progress of EQUIP research projects
Other
Maintain professional appearance, attitude, and office
Adhere to office hours, maintain record of hours worked out of office at country sites, study facilities or partner locations
Adhere to internal and externally-imposed deadlines for work submission
Set work targets and timeline for performance review with Line Manager
Submit leave forms as required
Communicate with the unit and supervisors with regards to all of the above
Willingly share in other responsibilities as assigned
