Liqhobong Mining Development Company (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Firestone Diamonds PLC, invites suitably qualified, self-driven, results oriented and competent Basotho to apply for the vacant position of Infrastructure Service Supervisor.

Job purpose

To provide support service for the smooth and effective operation of the Mine’s buildings, brick works, mortar structures, roads, security fencing/systems, water supply system plus sewage plant by means of effective planning, maintenance and repairs. The incumbent will offer specialized knowledge in the building maintenance and upgrades to comply with environmental, safety and health procedures of the Mine plus legal compliance. The job also requires that the incumbent must execute the physical work that is required from time to time.

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Site Engineer, the incumbent will carry out the following duties and responsibilities;

Manage / plan and control as well as execute all daily breakdowns of equipment and infrastructure to ensure that the required services are available 24/7 hours of the day;
Plan, schedule and execute equipment routine maintenance and services as required by the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer);
Perform daily quality inspections of the water reticulation and sewage process to ensure effectiveness plus Legal compliance as per the required standards;
Plan, schedule and execute all alterations, modifications’ to builds, plant and equipment as required by law or the mines needs to achieve the required production targets or compliance;
Review maintenance schedules of equipment on a regular basis or as required in the event of modifications or process changes from original specifications;
Manage the Mine document and data control system as per the Mine policy and procedures;
Update staff and contractors of service outages and scheduled shutdowns in own area of work;
During evacuations, assist emergency response teams in assessing building condition, shutting off utilities a delivering status report to team leaders
Supports building maintenance activities by providing multi-faceted assistance to Building Handyman as required ;
Train and manage the Services Operators to operate the sewage and portable water plants and ensure compliance with legal requirements and standards;
Ensure compliance and adherence to all company policies and procedures, legislative and operational requirements.


Legal and other requirements

Police clearance and medical examinations of fitness;
Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects;


Qualifications and experience

3 – 5 years’ experience as a Site Construction Foreman or Manager in building and civil environment;
COSC or equivalent plus a relevant trade certificate;
Experience in modular accommodation construction and maintenance;
Quality control experience in the building and civil construction environment.
