Geologist Wanted at Letšeng Diamonds

Letšeng seeks to engage a qualified professional with the appropriate skills and aptitude to fill the position of

PURPOSE: Reporting to the Senior Geologist, the Geologist will execute the company’s exploration strategies and grade controls to maximise production

MAIN OUTPUTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To geologically map mine faces and log core from diamond-drill boreholes
To record relevant information and data in meaningful and retrievable formats
To communicate with planning, survey and mining departments relevant geological information
To interact with survey, mining and treatment staff to ensure proper collections of geological samples
To support using geological expertise the daily production needs
To test the efficiencies of treatment plants by conducting regular spiking exercises

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

4 year Honours Geology degree or equivalent
2 to 3 years relevant geology experience, preferably on operating mines.
Light Vehicle Driver’s Licence

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Principles of geology including mineralogy, kimberlitic geology and ore deposit geology
Mining and treatment processes as related to grade control
Sampling principles and techniques
Principles of the mining and extraction processes
Attention to Detail
