The above Grade J position exists in the QA Department within Technical. The position provides opportunity for a young and talented individual who wishes to develop a career in this exciting industry as a Hygiene Specialist
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB.
The primary purpose of the job is to ensure that hygiene, cleaning and sanitizing practices throughout the brewery are optimized to enable exemplary product integrity to be established and entrenched.
KEY RESULT AREAS & OUTPUTS
IDENTYFY CRITICAL HYGIENE PRACTICES IN A BREWERY ENVIRONMENT
• Identify and implement hygiene practices and risks in Wort production
• Identify and implement hygiene practices and risks in yeast and fermentation
• Ensure microbial control in the brewing process
• Optimize cleaning and sanitation practices and standard
• Identify and implement hygiene practices and risks in maturation and storage
• Identify and implement hygiene practices and risks in beer filtration
• Identify and implement hygiene practices and risks in packaging
• Identify and implement hygiene practices and risks in draught beer process
• Identify and implement hygiene practices and risks in utilities and waste
OPTIMISE BREWERY HYGIENE PRACTICES
• Provide hygiene expertise
• Conduct training and assessment in the workplace
• Optimise cleaning and sanitizing practices and procedures across the brewery
• Develop and control documentation in the workplace
• Implement policies and surveys
• Create a Communication platform and reports flow structure from Level 1 to Level 3 on Hygiene matters
• Create Hygiene awareness and focused continuous improvement Brewery wide

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
• Degree in the Sciences or equivalent with 3 years’ post graduate experience preferably in fast moving consumable goods (FMCG) environment
