JOB DESCRIPTION/PURPOSE
To improve the operation of the mine for maintenance purposes by routinely assessing and fabricating steelworks.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
3 – 5 years’ experience as a Welder in a plant or manufacturing environment;
A relevant trade diploma or trade test certificate from a recognized / accredited institution;
Coded welding certificate Knowledge of piping, structural and plate work
welding techniques, tools and principles in the lant maintenance and construction environment;
Equipment selection – determining the kind of tools and equipment needed;
Use of machine and tools including their design, repair and maintenance;
SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
Time management;
Optimal use of materials and spares;
Sound technical trouble shooting/ fault finding skills;
Hand-eye coordination;
Proficiency in English;
Quality control and plant equipment maintenance.

Note that these are Mine based Positions on a rotation cycle. Applicants must be aware of the remote location of the mine approximately 130km east-north-east of the Lesotho capital Maseru, 360km south of Johannesburg.
