IT Auditor
Job Purpose
To evaluate information processing systems to determine their efficiency, accuracy and completeness. The incumbent will have the opportunity to perform various audit types (such as information technology (IT) general controls reviews; IT security reviews; applications control reviews; IT project reviews; and systems development life cycle project reviews) and provide data analytics.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Possess a solid understanding of general IT controls, infrastructure, operating systems, database administration, as well as practical audit experience executing audit programs is essential.
• Plan and execute audit assignments in an efficient, timely, and professional manner in accordance with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) standards.
• Evaluate processes to determine adequacy of controls, compliance with policies and procedures, and comparison to leading practices.
• Perform specific audit procedures, tests and analyses.
• Develop accurate, logical and detailed work-papers clearly describing the work performed, results of testing and conclusions reached.
• Provide recommendations to management for strengthening controls, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures and enhancing operations.
• Prepare comprehensive written and oral audit reports detailing the results of the audit.
• Partner with more senior members of the team to work with management to develop acceptable solutions to address issues or gaps identified. Perform other special projects as assigned.
• Providing assurance and consulting services throughout the project life cycle.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or the equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
• A minimum of at least 3 years of internal or external IT auditing experience.
• Relevant professional certification (i.e. CISA). • Exposure to IT Auditing standards, COBIT, ISO Standards, etc.
• Background in banking, financial services, desirable.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Proficient in using computer software (e.g., ACL, SQL, Excel), hardware and application systems.
• Digital banking experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of auditing processes/procedures.
• Ability to coordinate and perform multiple tasks/projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and deliverables.
• Ability to evaluate business processes and IT technology, identify risks and evaluate controls.
• Investigative and analytical skills.
• Ability to translate business needs and problems into viable and accepted solutions.
• Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in departmental projects.
