JOB TITLE: SENIOR ECONOMIC PLANNER
GRADE: H
RESPONSIBLE TO: CHIEF ECONOMIC PLANNER
MAIN DUTIES
• Writes research papers on topical economic and social issues.
▪ Coordinate activities of sub-regional, regional and international economic groupings
as they relate to the needs of Lesotho (SADC, IMF, ECA, World Bank etc).
• Supervise the publication of economic and social reports.
• Provides leadership in the formulation of sectoral plans as well as drawing up the
strategies for implementation.
• Evaluates on going programmes and projects.
• Participates in the identification, formulation and monitoring of projects.
Responsible for on the job training of junior staff
• Coordinates and supervises aid implementation and monitoring.
• Coordinates donor missions to the country.
Job Specification:
Degree in Economics or related social sciences plus three years experience in development planning as Economic Planner level; and must have demonstrated professional ability,
initiative and competence.
OR
Degree in Economics or related degree plus three (3) years experience in development
planning at Economic Planner Level; and must have demonstrated professional ability,
initiative and competency.
