The Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation has a vacancy for the position of Communications and Social Media Officer at its Office in Maseru.

Job Title: Communications and Social Media Officer
Reports to: Public Relations Manager
Purpose of the job
The incumbent is responsible for the management of various social media platforms for the Corporation and also managing the LTDC Web site. He or she is responsible for developing strategies to increase knowledge of Brand Lesotho on sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. He/ She is also the voice of those public sites, actively engaging followers in a dialogue that transforms numbers of visitors to the sites into actual visitors to the country.
The Key tasks and Responsibilities are
• Post comments about LTDC’s activities it real-time on various social media platforms
• Manage queries and public concerns as posted on such media platforms • Identify suitable media platforms for different topics and publics and increase/improve interactions on the platforms
• Ensure regular daily updating of information on the website and social media as required.
• Liaise on daily basis with all LTDC’s Departments for collection of news items and facilitation of coverage for such activities on the platforms
• Collaborate with all divisions of the marketing and promotions teams to create relevant content and interactive media experiences through the social sites.
• Use communication/journalistic skills to engage with the public to create relevant content and interactive media experiences through the social sites.
• Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Educational Qualifications
A degree in Communications or Journalism or equivalent with demonstrable experience to navigate various social media platforms.
Personal Attributes
Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
Creativity and design skills will be an added advantage
