Employment at Land Administration Authority
The Authority invites applications from qualified, competent and highly motivated individuals to fill the vacant position attainable in Leribe. The position requires good spoken and written Sesotho and English. A competitive and market-related remuneration package including non-contributory benefits is offered. A brief description of the position is provided below.
Regional Legal Officer – Leribe (1)
Purpose: The officer has to provide services relating to the application of alternative dispute resolution methods in land administration matters and represent LAA before Courts of Law and tribunals.
Key Result Areas: Full and proper use of dispute resolution methods; alternative dispute resolution services provided timely, effectively and efficiently such that instances of litigation are reduced or avoided; achieve a high level of success in court matters; provide accurate legal advice timely and accurately reporting of progress on alternative dispute resolution and court cases.
Qualifications and Experience: Must hold LLB degree and be admitted as an advocate or an attorney of the High Court of Lesotho; knowledge of ADR and Post Graduate qualification in Labour Law will be an added advantage; at least two (2) years working experience in litigation, preferably in a reputable law firm or in a public institution; at least two (2) years working experience in applying ADR methods, preferably in land related matters and at least two (2) years’ driving experience in the mountainous region of Lesotho .
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies: In-depth knowledge of the land law of Lesotho, litigation and alternative dispute resolution; ability to communicate effectively, non-judgemental and even-handedly with both parties in a dispute and competency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel

Envelopes containing the application, or email subject line, should clearly state the position applied for.

Applicants who do not hear from the Authority by 31st May 2017 may assume that their applications have not been successful.
