Painter Wanted at US Embassy Lesotho
The U.S. Embassy in Maseru is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Painter, FSN-4
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Implement all required works, including assistance with post preventive program where required, e.g cleaning of roofs, gutters, down pipes, checks fire extinguishers and smoke detectors that they are in good working condition and assists maintenance technicians with various aspects of maintenance program.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Applicants must address required qualification criteria listed below with specific information supporting each item. Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified.
Education
Must be graduate of an approved/accredited apprentice program that provides formal instruction in the painting trade or have a minimum of three years experience as an apprentice carpenter or have a license in painting. Completion of Secondary School is required.
Prior work experience
Minimum five years painting experience.
Language proficiency
Level 11 in English and Sesotho.
Post-entry training.
On the job training if necessary.
Job knowledge
Knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of paint required for different applications, placing putty or filler in nail holes and applying paint with spray gun, roller or brush. Mix colors, oil and other approved paint ingredients to obtain proper color consistency.
Skills and abilities
Must possess ability to use spray painting machinery, as required.
