Housing Coordinator Wanted at US Embassy Lesotho



The U.S. Embassy in Maseru is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Housing Coordinator, FSN-7.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

Incumbent should be a highly professional, strong leader who will work independently to perform a variety of duties to develop and maintain the residential housing pool for U.S. Mission Maseru. The incumbent will hold no supervisory responsibilities. He/she will be responsible for fostering relationships with all landlord/housing contacts for the Embassy – including landlords, vendors, and government officials. The incumbent will support the General Service Officer (GSO) by helping to supervise the seasonal turn over of residential housing and coordinate the housing make ready process. He/she will serve as the main point of countact for the Inter-Agency Housing Board and will be responsible for educating team members and in-coming customers.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Applicants must address required qualification criteria listed below with specific information supporting each item. Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified.

Education
High School education is required.

Prior work experience
The candidate could have a combination of five (5) years property management and customer service experience. The candidates property management experience shall not be less than three (3) years.

Language proficiency
Level 4 English language is required.  Level 4 Sesotho language is required.

Post-entry training.
Web Pass training, ILMS, Customer service, Occupational training for this position include but is not limited to real estate training, housing workshop.

Job knowledge
Must have a good working knowledge of typical American standards in houses so it can be applied to finding and furnishing a house to lease that meets the U.S. Government housing standards. Good working knowledge of post and state/OBO housing policies and practices is required. A general knowledge of local city real estate laws, regulations, and procedures as they relate to residential leasing and contracting is required..

Skills and abilities
Must be articulate with good interpersonal skills and leadership qualities. This position requires self-motivation. Must exercise good judgment while juggling a variety of tasks. Must work well under pressure while maintaining a good customer service focus. Must be fully proficient with MS word and internet search engines. Must have the ability to type and speed and accuracy is essential. Must have a valid driver’s license.
