An ideal opportunity for a finance professional looking for a unique experience working with an award-winning non-profit and social enterprise in Africa.
Experienced and qualified Finance Director required for Kick4Life, based at the Kick4Life Centre in Maseru, the capital city of Lesotho in southern Africa.
The Finance Director is a vital position within the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all of the organization’s finances covering our charitable programmes and social enterprises. The FD will be a key part of our Senior Management Team, and reports to the Country Director.
Responsibilities include:
• Overseeing all of the organization’s financial management.
• To maintain effective systems and financial procedures to guide the charity’s financial management and decision-making.
• To manage all funding and donor partnerships, preparing financial reports in a timely manner.
• To manage the finances of the social enterprises ensuring accurate reporting on profit/loss and providing detailed financial reports to support improved profitability.
• To play an integral part in the overall running of the organization as part of the Senior Management Team.
• To manage the day-to-day finances of the organization including accounting, making payments, running payroll and maintenance of our accounting system QuickBooks. This will include coding of all payments and income.
• To line manage three Finance Assistants.
• To control all income and expenditure, and manage petty cash.
• To prepare monthly financial reports as required by the Chief Executives and Country Director in a timely manner.
• To manage cashflow and prepare cashflow statements that can be made available at any time.
• To support the development of the organization’s annual budget.
• To develop measures and reports for managing financial performance across all areas of the organization.
• To ensure the organization is compliant with all financial and tax regulations in Lesotho, and that proper records are maintained.
• To management the preparation of the annual accounts in a timely manner working closely with external accountants/auditors.
• To attend Trustee meetings in Lesotho, preparing financial reports and updates as required.
• Ensure appropriate insurance cover is in place for all the charity’s requirements
Person specification
· Qualified accountant.
· At least 5 years experience at Finance Director level
· Experience working in the NGO and private sectors.
· Proven experience of managing a finance team.
· Trustworthy, hardworking and reliable
· Up to date knowledge of management accounting systems and organizational financial commitments.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Two excellent references will be required.
Package
Dependent on experience.
Housing, flights, living expenses, vehicle and a stipend will be provided.
