Production Manager: Smelter (E-Band) The successful candidate will contribute towards business success by facilitating optimal production decision making within the business, ensuring the strategic alignment and focus of the Production Department, and ensuring the establishment, effective utilisation and ongoing improvement of appropriate production policies, procedures, systems and practices. Key role responsibilities include ensuring effective and efficient operations by optimising the utilisation of equipment, as well as proactive identification, elimination and management of risk, as well as ensuring that appropriate organisational structures are created, sufficient budgets are approved, capital projects are established, the correct skills and talent attracted and appropriate partnerships entered into. Furthermore, the incumbent will be expected to conduct ongoing analysis of all work processes to identify potential improvements and reduce risks, identify appropriate best practices and establish appropriate service level agreements. To be considered, candidates must be in possession of a relevant degree or National Diploma and a recognised qualification in Production Management, coupled with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Smelter environment and 5 years as a Line Manager. Closed furnace experience will come in handy. Good communication, innovation, strategic, operational planning and presentation skills are imperative.
