Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho Nationals for the above-mentioned position. The position is in Maseru, LEC Head office. The incumbent will be responsible to the Financial Accounting Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS

· BCOMM Accounting Degree or General Accountant.

EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Experience:
· Minimum two (2) years relevant experience.
· Good understanding of International Accounting Standards.
· Good experience with computerised accounting packages (Preferably ACCPAC) and MS Office Packages.
· Fair Knowledge of Lesotho Tax Laws.
· Highly numerate.

· Excellent analytical and report writing skills.
· Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
The incumbent will be responsible for performing the following:
· Manages Accounts Payable and Accounting for LEC Contracts.
· Maintains a record of bulk electricity purchases and reconcile to General Ledger.
· Ensures adherence of transaction to Lesotho Tax Laws.
· Reconciles Accounts Payable module to General Ledger.
· Reconciles all GL accounts relevant to LEC Contracts.
· Supervises reconciliation of individual creditors’ accounts.
· Manages the Accounts Payable Section including personnel.
· Maintains good relationship with stakeholders.
· Continually reviews policies and procedures relating to own span of control.
· Actively participates in preparation of departmental plan and budget.
· Actively participates in the evaluation of LEC contracts.
