Associate Professor/Full Professor in the Department of English

The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following post:

FACULTY OF HUMANITIES:

Post No. 1600:  Associate Professor/Full Professor in the Department of English (Re-Advertisement)

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
The applicants must have a PhD in Language and Linguistics. He/she should be able to teach a broad range of courses from Undergraduate to Postgraduate levels. Applicants should show strong evidence of publication in refereed journals and should have at least six years (for associate professor) and twelve years (for full professor) of experience in teaching at tertiary level. 
The successful applicant will be required to play an active role in building the Department, taking the lead in developing new areas of activity when required, and contributing to the Department, Faculty and University-wide activities. He or she will be expected to be actively involved in grant applications, have a clear research and publication strategy and be willing to contribute to projects that complement the Department, Faculty and University’s research and knowledge-transfer activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations.
Participating in the research programmes of the Department/Faculty.
Carry out teaching and conduct research in his/her area of expertise, and perform any other duties as may be required by the Department.
Assume Administrative duties if requested to.
Any other reasonable duties appropriate to the post.

Employment type:
Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable for Locals and Contract for Non – Locals.
