Project Manager - ‘Malere and Nkhaketse vegetable production scheme (MNVPS)

Background
‘Malere and Nkhaketse vegetable production scheme (MNVPS) will be implementing a vegetable production supported by Letšeng Diamonds Mine under its Corporate Social Responsibility and Investment programme. MNVPS is looking for a dynamic Lesotho citizen to lead the implementation of this unique and self-sustaining programme in Butha-Buthe. 

The following are the proposed tasks for the project manager:
Job Summary: Reporting to the Management Committee the incumbent will be responsible to oversee the overall implementation of the vegetable production on behalf of ‘Malere and Nkhaketse scheme. The incumbent will be based in the district of Butha-Buthe.
Specifically the Project Manager will be responsible to perform the following tasks:
• Develops and ensures implementation of policies, systems and guidelines with respect to budgeting, expenditure control, financial management and human resources management to manage the project. The policies, systems and guidelines will be approved by the Management Committee.
• Prepares an annual work plan and budget to ensure proper management of the project resources and assets.
• Oversees the proper processing of program/project related financial transactions; as well as maintenance of records and ensures accurate recording and reporting of financial information.

• Assists farmers to identify markets for their products and link their production with the market requirements.
• Prepares quarterly and annual financial and narrative reports on the projects progress as will be determined by the project management committee.
• Develops and implements contracts of service between the farmers, the association and the consumers.
• Develops and implements human resource management systems for all staff to be employed by the project.
• Develops and implements a project’s communication strategy to the different stakeholders including the farmers.

Qualifications, Experiences and Attributes
Education: The incumbent must have be a holder of a first degree in social sciences with strong project management and financial management background.
Experience and other attributes
• 2 years’ experience in performing a similar job will be an added advantage.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• The incumbent must demonstrate strong leadership and organizational development skills.
• The incumbent must be someone who is methodical, disciplined, self-driven and should have resilience to work under pressure in order to meet stringent deadlines at short notice.
Remuneration
An attractive remuneration package commensurate with experience is on offer.
