Manages the customer service and service support activities for the West Africa Marine & Offshore market to ensure profitability, business development and growth with the highest level of customer service and satisfaction.
1. Develops a clear business plan for the allocated territory to drive maximum growth, profitability and customer satisfaction.
2. Manages the P&L account to maximize growth and profitability of the GE Power Conversion service business. Maintains high levels of orders, sales and profitability in winning and executing Projects. Reports Key Performance Indicators monthly.
3. Manages the Service Center, Spare & Repairs, Training and Service Project businesses.
4. Plans strategically to ensure continued profitable growth of the business by developing opportunities within the existing installed base and identifying and entering new markets.
5. Develops and increases skilled resources to support the business growth
6. Prepares and establishes budgets and forecasts.
7. Negotiates quotations for business with new or existing customers. Visits customer sites as required. Acts as a senior point of contact to the customer.
8. Strives to achieve maximum customer satisfaction for all owners/operators in the territory. Ensures proper response to customer concerns and provides resolution of issues and/or complaints. Advises the Marine Service business leaders of the status of customer complaints or concerns.
9. Establishes and manages a continuous, 24 hour by 7 day a week, support network in response to customer calls for service. Ensures appropriate response and service is provided to the customer.
10. Ensures business is conducted in accordance with Company procedures. Participates as the Service representative in operational working groups. Identifies and participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
11. Supports the business by identifying customer needs and life cycle management requirements. Interfaces with engineering to identify NPI projects to support the customer base and increase market share.
12. Develops department staff by participating in the selection process, performance reviews, and training.
13. Co-operates with other regional service managers to share resources and ensure the global workload is managed and breakdown situations managed quickly.
14. Other duties may be assigned by management to meet business needs
1. Four (4) year degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Technology or related field. Five (5) or more years of direct experience at management level in an industrial system service business.
2. Possesses a comprehensive knowledge base regarding automation and drive systems and/or Marine Electrical Propulsion products and engineering capabilities.
3. Ability to learn and follow defined departmental policies, procedures and practices.
4. Must be able to make decisions with regards to completion of tasks and job methods and follow through with results of outcome.
5. Verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills essential.

Preference will be given to EE candidates.

2. Ability to prioritize workload and shift work activities in order to meet business needs and department goals.
3. Must be able to independently arrange and organize work efforts on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. Must be able to meet tight deadlines. Ability to multi-task on a consistent basis.
4. Ability to conceptualize and implement performance objectives that meet established requirements.
5. Demonstrates a high degree of personal and professional ethics and integrity.
6. Ability to make recommendations regarding job methods and departmental procedures.
