Senior Referrals Coordinator

PSI Lesotho wishes to notify all PSI staff that have
been retrenched ( between March and May, 2015) of
the vacant position of Senior Referrals Coordinator
(x1). Interested candidates are requested to submit
their letter of intent showing interest in the position,
CVs and certificates to the HR Manager on or before
19th June, 2015 by 12 noon.
TITLE: Senior Referrals Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Programs CDC-Target
SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this position is to work with all
HTC Programs to ensure that clients, after testing and
knowing their HIV status, are linked with relevant post
test services. The secondary role of this position is to
support the HTC Program Managers to compile and
report on program activities, this include direct oversight
of referral coordinators and partnership with relevant
network partners including DHMT, District Councils
and treatment partners, health facilities/hospitals and
Community based Organizations at both district and
community levels to ensure the smooth referrals and
linkages to care.
This position is based at PSI Head Office in Maseru and
reports to the HTC Program Manager, but expected to
travel 70% of the time.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Management
• Work with DHMTS to establish best referral strategies
for each district.
• Oversee all referral activities
• Work with the PSI M&E/Research Department and the
team for referral data Management
• Identify post test services available in each district,
the kind of services they provide and develop referral
directory to be used by counselors and referral
coordinators.
• Organize meetings with DHMTs/Partners to identify
and manage all issues related to referral in health
facilities
• Liaise with the Communications department to
conduct awareness programs to ensure highest
quality of referral at the facility level
• Participate in the development/revision of index
tracking tools
Supervision
• Make regular follow ups with post test service
providers to accurately and consistently track clients
and ensure proper linkages to post –test care and
support.
• Develop and maintain a referral tracking system that
links PSI services especially positive clients to care and
support
• Ensure that referral boxes are correctly placed and
referrals slips are collected in all clinics in the country
• Actively participate in the New Start campaigns
preparations when need arises
Liaises with relevant network partners to build
harmonious relations and joined decision making
• Hold mini training for clinical staff on new start referral
boxes whenever necessary
• Ensure that Health facilities get referral collection
reports at least quarterly
• Develop strategies that will relief Health facilities
load on collection of referral during PSI New Start
campaigns
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK
EXPERIENCE:
• Degree in Health Sciences or similar essential
• At least 4 years demonstrated management of
referrals and Linkages System is essential
KEY COMPETENCIES:
• Ability to work effectively in partnership with a variety
of audiences and organizations essential
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Sesotho
essential
• NGO experience essential, INGO experience preferred
• Knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office
essential
• Drivers license essential
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
required to meet deadlines
• Excellent writing skills essential
• Excellent presentation skills essential
• Project management experience essential
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills essential
Submission of Letter of Intent
All letters of intent should be accompanied by a detailed
Curriculum Vitae with Names of Two Referees, certified
copies of educational certificates and must be addressed
to the Human Resources Manager.
All letters of intent should be hand delivered.
Closing date for Submissions of intent letters is
19th June 2015.
