Opportunity
Letšeng Diamonds is seeks to employ a Mosotho National with the appropriate skills and aptitude to fill the position of
CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR (PATERSON BAND DU)
PURPOSE: Reporting to the Mining Manager, the Contract Administrator will primarily be responsible for administration of the mining services contract.
PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
• Administration of the contract, including but not limited to the management,
monitoring and application of the commercial and legal aspects relating to the
provision of the mining service.
• Ensure that the management and direction of the mining contract is
undertaken with the least commercial and legal risk to Letšeng.
• Use reasonable endeavours to resolve issues and concerns in a fair and
equitable manner and or providing guidance in terms of legal and commercial
issues when called to do so.
• Provide guidance in terms of legal and commercial issues.
• Monitor and report on Value Engineering initiatives that have been identified
and implemented by the parties.
• Provide guidance in the assessment and resolution of claims in a timely and
effective manner.
• Validate the scope changes with the contract manager.
• Validate inflammatory related price adjustments on the contract.
• Provide commercial and legal input into the monthly certificate process to
ensure that invoices and payment is managed in accordance with the
requirements of the contract.
• Ensure compliance with the company Policies and Procedures, Code of
Conduct and Business Ethics and Corporate Governance.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Relevant 3-4 years degree/diploma [Quantity Survey, B.Com, Eng. (Mining,
Mechanical), Geology, Legal qualification]
• A management development qualification would be an added advantage
• 3-5 years’ experience relating to contract administration and/or contract
management
• Working knowledge and understanding of open pit mining/geology and
engineering processes
• Dynamic knowledge of the administration of mining and/or civil contracts
FIDIC or NEC3 or AMPLA forms of contract
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
• Assist with the development and review of procurement and purchasing
policies, procedures, templates and conditions of contract and provide
technical guidance and management controls for the procurement and
purchasing disciplines of Letšeng Mine.
• Investigate and challenge current processes and practices, introduce,
implement and lead procurement and supply chain enhancements.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Candidates will be required to undergo a Medical Examination of fitness
as per requirements.
