HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER
Liqhobong Mining Development Company (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Firestone Diamonds PLC, invites suitably qualified and competent Basotho to apply for the vacant position of Human Resource Officer.
Job purpose
To provide Human Resources advice and service to management, contractors and employees of the mine and appropriate reporting thereon.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Group HR Manager, the incumbent will carry out the following duties and responsibilities;
• Ensures adherence to internal HR policies and Lesotho Employment Laws;
• Keeps abreast of new trends within the HR field in order to advise Management on best practices; • Keep abreast of wage and salary trends in order to advise Management appropriately;
• Ensures that all new employees receive appropriate induction
• Ensures that on resignation or discharge exit policy and procedures are adhered to and findings on analysis of such are reported to management
• Ensures that positions have been appropriately evaluated and graded
• Maintains an accurate and reliable Human Resources Information System (HRIS);
• Coordinates and implements appropriate employee wellness programmes within LMDC
Legal and other requirements
• Police clearance and medical examinations of fitness as per the inherent requirements of the position
• Driving licence Qualifications and experience
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role in a medium - large environment;
• Bachelor of Human Resource Management;
• A postgraduate degree in Human Resources or equivalent will be an added advantage;
• Knowledge of HR best practices, Lesotho Employment Laws and OD interventions;

Note that this is a mine based position on a rotation cycle.
Applicants must be aware of the remote location of the mine approximately 130km east-north-east of the Lesotho capital, Maseru, 360km south of Johannesburg. Being a remote site, we require our staff to show courtesy and compatibility with fellow workers at all times.
